Masu Sushi reviews
27One of my favourite restaurants of all time. I was back in town in PDX after moving away and was looking forward to dining here. I just wish they would reopen for dine-in (with social distancing). The dining room and atmosphere are an integral part of the 5* experience here.
Awesome staff and service. I called for a spicy Kani salad. They don't have it on the menu, but made something close. Would love to see the place post-covid.
I am obsessed with sushi and let me tell you, this is the best, always fresh and finally not one of those places where they cover everything with all sort of mayo sauces. Really, it's amazing, and good selection of cocktails!
We were craving sushi and this popped up for us. Because of COVID we had to take it to go, but it was definitely worth it!
The server/host/cooks were super friendly, made great suggestions, and even gave us a list of restaurants to try if we were craving other foods.
The BEST dish out of everything we ordered was the kimchi fried rice. It was AMAZING. The pork belly was perfectly cooked, the kimchi played beautifully with the other veggies and the rice, and the crispy egg on top gave it a decadent touch. I would return for this one dish 100 times.
The sushi was freshly made, although we opted for mostly fried rolls. The flavor of the rolls was fantastic, and was a large serving too!
We will definitely return here again, and will be trying sashimi next!
Ordered take out and it was the best take out sushi we've had in Portland. Other places in PDX have been disappointing. Masu was fast, good service, fresh and delicious. Miss dining in, it's a beautiful restaurant with good ambiance.
Likely the best Sushi house in Portland. A little pricy, but well worth it. Treat yourself. Great service and excellent food!
The atmosphere was perfect, great service and amazinggggg food! First time dining here and not at all disappointed one bit and will for sure be back for more!
First time here. Came in very late on a saturday night, 11: 38pm. Still served us. Was a delightful dining experience. Was suggested the daily caught tuna. Couldn't have been more pleased. The cucumber salad was excellent, the star of the plate was oddly enough the pickled fennel and bamboo shoots.
If I'm ever back in Portland, this is on my list.
Chirashi was great! Fish selection was fresh as well. Price could be better but not a deal breaker for a beautiful evening in downtown.
I think that this may be the best sushi restaurant in Portland. So fresh so clean. Try something not on the menu. May I recommend Fanning's favorite, the spicy scallop hand roll.
Very good sushi. Little bit on the pricy side, but totally worth it. Their St. Helen's Volcano roll is just awesome! Their hamachi sashimi was very fresh and very tasty. One of the best yellowtails I ever had.
A very special sushi experience, both delicate and intense. Although a bit expensive, a good value for the diversity and attention to detail. Everything was very good. Loved the sushi bar.
Top tier sushi and an excellent saki list. I tried both the fresh water eel and the saltwater eel - both were among the best I have ever had.
Amazing sushi quality. The atmosphere of the restaurant also felt very high quality. I would recommend attempting to get a window seat if any are available because you’re on the second story and the view is nice. One of the better calamari dishes I’ve had and really good salmon.
Lovely fresh and creative sushi rolls. Fresh oysters were delicious! Friendly and attentive service. Definitely will return for another meal.
Best sushi spot in Portland.hands down. I come here on average once a week.
The staff are super knowledgeable and helpful and make sure you’re good to go.
The food is the best fish I’ve had.after chatting with the chefs (5 real funny dudes) you get a great sense of the pride they take.
If I bring anyone anywhere it’s here.
First off. The sushi was excellent, delicious. But the service and vibe was a little cold and pretentious, but some people might like that.
Didn’t had much expectation before I stepped in, and after first order of tamago, saba, and ikura, realized rice was little too warm for the fish. (Asked to cool the rice for next orders) Kanpachi was the best hands down, but akami (red fish) sushi needs improvement. Omakase (chef’s choice) was really good. Soft sushi all around.summary: white fish is good, but red fish needs improvement. Five star for Kanpachi sushi
Went on a Sunday afternoon before an event in late June. We picked one roll and the staff picked the 2nd. Enjoyed both rolls, very fresh great flavors. Sorry don’t remember the roll names. We sat at the sushi counter, the staff was prompt, friendly and fast with the drinks. The place was clean and about 1/2 full when we left. The second picture with the large assortment was for the people next to us at the bar. They said it was excellent.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience. The environment was so very comfortable and the service was exceptional. Our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. Pricing was on point! I loved that the restaurant was on the second floor. Parking was easy as well. All around one of the best dining experiences I've had in Portland.
