Mazatlan Mexican Restaurant Cornelius

Haven't been here in years; Decided to stop for dinner tonight. The restaurant was clean. It was also pretty empty, although it was a Tuesday night. We enjoyed their cocktails; they were properly poured and were tasty. Was surprised to hear they have up to a 42oz cocktail! My wife enjoyed the combination fajitas, and I had the enchiladas rancheras. Drinks were Miami ice and Alabama slammer. The service was top notch, our waiter was on top of our every need; we never had to call anyone to check on us. The food was a bit on the mild flavored side; but while we were there, the only two other tables asked for mild salsa and ranch. How grossly white; which I'm sure is why they talor their food to a mild pallet. A pleasant visit over all, and will return.
Update: the owner quickly responded with a positive response. I really respect an owner whom replies quickly and non defensively. It shows that they care.

Prompt and friendly service. Highlights include margaritas the size of your torso and cheese & onion enchiladas.

Delicious food! Always get my Mexican food fix here and it's always equally satisfying. The people are nice and I do pick up or delivery, but it's great!

The most disgusting food I have ever had in my life. The food tasted like canned food leftovers, the nachos and salsa tasted old. It was total garbage. The table smelled like an unwashed towel.
It is an insulting to real Mexican food. Don’t waste your money.

Great service and very good food. I have lived in Cornelius almost 15 years and this is the first time I ordered some food from Mazatlan. We were very pleased with the quality of food, the portion size and the service we received. We will absolutely visit Mazatlan Cornelius again soon! Thank you!

Good service. Sweet employees who work quickly. Great food. It's always at the top of our list of options when we want to dine out.

Was totally turned off by the waitress not knowing the price of their drinks. She said they are all different prices. Couldn't give us one price of one drink. We asked for beans for the chips 4 different times to 2 different people. Never got the beans. Was charged 3.50 for a small spoon of black beans to go on a taco salad. This was not the best experience. Not sure if we will be back.

I don't care for onions or tomatoes. I was unfortunately told by our waitress that they cook everything with onions and tomatoes but she was very accommodating and said she could get me cheese quesadillas with grilled chicken, which turned out to be very tasty. My 2 friends both enjoyed their dinners, a taco platter and a taco enchilada combo as well as their gold margaritas. The service was very good and I would eat here again next time I'm out there direction.

Got sick from eating here last night. My husband and I got it delivered and now have food poisoning.
Not even sure how this restaurant does this when they make such good food - but sometimes it happens.
Sorry but won’t be eating here anymore due to it.

I know that everyone is suffering from pandemic staffing issues. But, getting a water refill from staff walking by with pitchers shouldn't be so challenging.

Seating was immediate with chips and salsa.

Water and ordering took 21 minutes.

Receiving our food took another 35 minutes

Waiting to pay after asking for check 20 minutes.

I think having a 6 yo child along who is very hungry doesn't help, but he kept trying to be good.

Most of the other tables had the same experience. I'm a very forgiving patron. But, you really need to work on the rhythm of the staff. Having been here dozens of times this was not up to expectations. Hoping the last few visits will be a distant memory and that their issues will resolve.

Just wowww the food was amazing, the drinks omggggg loved lol. The staff was so nice and sweet. Definitely coming back again. We’re originally from Texas and finding something close to our liking this was the best.

I've never had bad food from there. The service could be a little better but also could be worse. I'll continue to eat there.

Good old fashioned Mexican restaurant! I've had nachos here before that were piled high, good chips and salsa, and this time went with this cheese enchilada plate. The ambience was just right!

Good service and food was authentic. Price was decent. We ordered 1/2lb camarones appetizer, Arroz con camarones and chicken carnitas. Both the camarones dishes looked almost same so better to go with either one of them.

Best fajitas around. Staff is friendly. They don't provide their amazing bean dip anymore but the salsa is tasty and the chips are fresh.

The food is amazing! The service excellent. Staff are very helpful and nice. We really enjoyed the fact we didn't feel rushed and could sit and talk. Their humor was very refreshing. I love this place️

Delicious food! Great margaritas! One thing.waiters were staring at us the whole time almost like they disliked us. We had a different person bring out items so i had no clue who my waiter was. And they werent friendly in the slightest. Awesome food though

Used to love this place, we ordered takeout and the amount of food for the price was less than great. The quality has really gone down. Taco salads were not very full. The food was ready pretty fast, so appreciate this.
