McMenamins Greater Trumps, Portland OR

Very comfortable atmosphere, great air circulation, informative and friendly staff. We have our monthly cigar meet up with the buddies here and have all decided that we don't want to go anywhere else!

Such a great spot for a cigar. Lovely atmosphere, cozy and warm but enough air flow. Always have a great time here, and Hope is a great bartender!

I love mcmenamins i always come here with my sister and her buddy and the service here is amazing.when we come it’s around 10pm when they are open after 10pm and it’s very quiet and chill.pretty dark with some lighting.i recommend there pizza it is very good.the only thing bad about this place and it isn’t too bad but there are weirdos in or out.

I love how vintage and cozy this bar is. I have been a big fan of McMenamins for many years and am shocked I haven’t been to this unique whiskey bar, I happened upon it to get my McMenamins passport stamp. If you’re sensitive to smoke, this might not be the place for you as smoking cigars inside is allowed — it’s great for people like my brother and I that enjoy a little smoke with our snifters. Up to the McMenamins standard, service kind of snuffed us off but that’s generally expected:) Will be coming back!

Give Hope all your tip money, now! They're an absolute fixture of Trumps and had always been amazing:)

Great front of house staff, very much enjoyed the ambiance. There's numerous pool tables and shuffleboard setups to use. I would argue that it's an excellent place to relax

This is a great place for dinner. The ambience is amazingly done. It makes you feel like miles away from the city, and into a relaxing forest.

I visited the Backstage Bar, but it's right next to the Greater Trumps, so Google got confused. But the Backstage Bar is one of my favorite places on earth, it is such a beautiful place, even has incredible acoustics, makes me wish they held classical piano concerts in there. It's cool and dark in there, not overly busy, I like to watch sports games there. If there's a big, important game, they project it on a movie screen. I also like the beer, my favorite is the Hazy IPA, it's hoppy. Mcmenamins employees are usually too "cool" and "hip" to be very friendly, but it's not bad service otherwise. They have awesome salads, other items are hit and miss in my opinion, but again, not too bad. I think the wonderful atmosphere is the strength of Mcmenamins.

I have been coming to Greater Trump's or "GT's" since it opened. The people who work there are very good people and great at their jobs. A great place for a cigar!

We came on a rainy Friday afternoon after watching a movie and it was busy! There was outside seating under umbrellas, but fortunately for us, there were a few seats inside at the middle table. I had an excellent Billy Rye boulevardier, and my husband had the Graham's Six Grapes. That and a shared stogie were a great way to end the afternoon.

Cozy cigar bar with good selection of scotch and whiskeys. Delicious food. Friendly staff and patrons. Definitely recommend and can't wait to come back to Portland to visit again

What a great atmosphere! I enjoyed a Terminator stout and Oban scotch in the midst of flavourful cigar smoke. Next time I will purchase cigars.

So if you ever wondered what it was like for writers and artists to go to small cafes in Paris you need to go here to get that feel.

Best staff, impressive humidor, and great drinks too. Love having meetings and even hangouts here.
