Mid-K Beauty Supply #1, Portland OR

I love this Mid-K because it has such a wide selection. The ladies behind the counters helping people with wig selections were all amazing. Going above and beyond for each customer. The ladies helped me find a wig and ponytail AND THEN helped me find all the sprays and tools I would need to install these things. Loved it! The only downside was I had to wait quite awhile to get the help. Other than that, it was a great experience. I will definitely go back again and would recommend.

You definitely don’t come here for customer service… “Hey can someone help me with this”… “NO! ”
Or just walk right by you as you’re clearly waiting at the counter for the merchandise they have behind the counter.
When you come to this business expect to feel super uncomfortable during your shopping experience. The looks, the body language, the energy is unwelcoming.

If the other Beauty Supply down the street wasn’t worse than this experience I would just go there, unfortunately the other place is worse.

I understand working retail is horrible (especially with horrible entitled customers), but there are some NON horrible NON entitled people out there that just want a friendly helpful experience as they shop. (Nothing crazy just a friendly, helpful, comfortable experience for both seller and buyer)

Always a great place to go when you need anything! From hair/hair products, jewelry, beauty items and more! I’ve been coming here for years and the store has always been in my favor! My favorite place to go everytime I want my hair done

Such rude staff. Only two women are nice no wonder they have an employee turn around rate they fire rehire everytime I come. And I wasn't even being impatient and they were being weird. I don't think I'll be shopping here anymore

Black folk open your own hair shop. I hate going here they don't give af about us at all.

I can never find what I want. I've also had to return items due to dried out glues to wigs that caps ripped in two days. The people are friendly and are quick to fix any problems but it's a hit or miss stop for me but a place I'll always check into to see what's new

Overwhelming amount of wigs and extensions and other products. Very nice employees as well. Will definitely be back.

Staple in the black community I guess. I only go here for my mom and siblings.

They have fake adidas slides lol.

They have ample supply of hair wigs none that I really care for but they have plenty a lot of things for your hair it's a good beauty supply store they have plenty.

Friendly employees. Clean environment. Didn't quite have what I went in for (otherwise would have 5 stars), but I still came out with stuff I needed. Let me say my teenage daughter loves this store

You would for a bigger store they would have a bathroom for their customers but unfortunately they do not. Ridiculous!

I love my new lace front wig and only had to spend very little time in store. Great service as well!

I can always find what I need here. Lots of Black hair care products, wigs, cheap weave packs, hard to find hair styling products, and of course random jewelry and nail polish products.

I definitely recommend this place only because I am not in Tacoma Washington where they have this huge I mean huge hair outlet it's like amazing like you can find any and everything it is so big so big I like this place because you know I stay in Oregon and it's always nice going there they have different varieties and I don't go or live around this area too often but when I do it's always fun

This place is big, we found all the items we were looking for. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend to check out.

I can always count on this place to have all the hair I ever wanted! Everyone who works here is helpful, and friendly:) I've never been to a supply store with this many options! I'm at this store every couple weeks, I've experimented with many different kinds of hair, braids, dreds, straight and also wavy extensions. I can say with confidence that I've been a very satisfied customer:)

As far as Portland goes, this is the spot for hair. Especially black people hair. You can find most things you need for hair here. I was surprised to not find any rice water product the days I went but they have so many nice things. They also sell jewellery (got some cute hoops) and other accessories (like this massive shower cap I got, perfect for when I have long, bulky braids in). No returns for some items, always read the glass! And for the things that you can return, be sure to keep the receipt. That's the only way they'll take it.

Sometimes the lady that owns it is rude though and walks right past you and doesn't help.

Mid-k is the spot if you actually care about your hair. You only but products at other stores when you don't want to go to the other side of town.
