Molalla River Recreation Area reviews
9 I grew up in the area, and went to Molalla high school. I spent a lot of my youth, like other Molalla kids, running around the Molalla River Corridor. Some of my best memories were made up here. From fishing with my dad, camping with my family, to drives with my husband and children. Now I get the joy of exploring the area with my adult son and best friend. We recently camped up here and can't wait to go back again.
At almost 52, these hills and river are still home.
The 1-star is not regarding the scenic corridor because all rivers have a 5-star rating in my book. It is for the utter disregard that some folks "recreating" in this area have for the river. The amount of trash I picked up IN the river is depressing. Not to mention the amount of trash picked up in the pull outs. There is zero respect and love for the land here. Please pick up if you see trash here. I guess a wild fire wasn't enough to convince people they should cherish the places they want to spend time in.
Beautiful area for day use and some nice looking camping options. There are areas with relatively fresh fire damage, and those will definitely become more dangerous over time until the area is cleared.
The dogs had a blast swimming. They seem to find all the best swimming holes in Oregon over and over again. Pretty smart dogs if you ask me LOL.
This is one of those places I don't want everyone to know about It's so beautiful up there. Great place to spend the day if you're interested in being out in the woods. Don't go too far, or the remnants of the forest fires will make you sad.still, awesome places to go check out all up the riverside.
Very scenic river. I was on limited time so I just parked in gravel lot on side of highway and walked down to the river. Walk down was easy but people who are fall risks might want to be careful on some of the rocks. A little slippery.
The road follows the Mollala River, and it several different spots with parking, pit toilets and more. Not too far down to the river from the parking area, and it's lined by trees. There's places that camp as well as park and go down to the river all along this area. Once you get a several miles up, you'll see a sign that warns you are entering a burn zone. The road up into that is open for a good while, but the side roads and the logging roads are all closed due to danger from the burned trees.
This place is incredible. Only downfall is everyone knows that, so it is always PACKED if the weather is nice.
