Motel 6 Gresham, OR - Portland

We drove over 2000 miles to stay at Motel 6 in Gresham. We arrived and tried to check in. The younger man running the front desk was horribly rude. We had 4 rooms reserved and he told us that we could not check in to one of the rooms (they were all reserved on the same card) because my son was unable to join us. When we tried to explain we were all together the guy would have none of it. I told him I could call my son & he could let him know we are using his room & he said that we would have to pay double the rate (over $200) to book for 1 day. My mom asked him if he could speak louder because he was standing more than a foot away from the glass & the only part of the window to hear him through was about 3 inches at the bottom. He then told her it's not his problem that she can't hear him & that he was not willing to accommodate us. We had made these reservations MONTHS ago. My mom then asked him why he was being so rude to us when he could clearly see that all the rooms were booked with her card & her billing addres. He looked at her and said I'm not the one with an attitude.pointed to my brother and asked if he was with us & said he would not be helping us any further. This left us stranded with 10 kids trying to find rooms at 7 pm. The customer service was absolutely horrible. The guy running the front office Is purposely running off customers. My mom asked him if she needed to do anything so that she wouldn't be charged since he wouldn't let us check in & he told her nope I cancelled them all. She asked about each person individually (we never gave him our names as we had only given him my sons name first) & he said he cancelled all 4 rooms. The only way he knew who we were was by pulling up her payment info. We have has ZERO issue at any other motel 6 along the way. This guy should not be working in hospitality. He had a huge chip on his shoulder for no reason whatsoever. I would stay away from this motel 6. Not just because of his attitude, but also for the fact that there were several homeless people laying on the sidewalk infront of the hotel & there is a big sign warning you that they are not responsible for any damage to your vehicle or stolen property because if the homeless situation. Steer clear. Fyi. The hotel we were finally able to get rooms at, Said that ok a regular basis they have people coming to them in a similar situation because the guy was rude & refused to let them check in. (They had already had a few people before us have the sane issue)

I usually write reviews when I have a great experience. Most of the time when I have a bad experience I tell myself that whoever is contributing to the bad experience is just having a bad day. This is a review I must leave because the owners need to be aware of how hostile their host is. I had 4 rooms and canceled them all. Immediately went to quality inn. They treated me with respect and hospitality. I paid for 4 rooms there and I was happy that I did. It's worth $20 more per room to be in a welcoming atmosphere. Especially when traveling with family. I don't know how this motel 6 is going to stay afloat with the guy at the front desk taking his personal problems out on the guests. Very strange. Moral of the story is avoid staying here at all cost.

As far as this writer knows the service is ok. I didn't actually stay here but went out there for a visit with a close friend and his wife therefore I didn't have any interaction with any staff members. They couldn't have picked a better location for this motel, for you are and have access to many restaurants and fast food joints.

Worst hotel experience. Curly head kid that works the desk is gonna approach the wrong person with his anger and issues. One key per rule per room? This place runs like a low security prison. Stay clear!

Best thing is the room alone with being pet friendly.

Beds are very firm, best for those that sleep on their backs. If you are a side sleeper, count on NOT getting a good night sleep.

I stayed in a room about 2 moths ago and forgot my spare keys. They still had them and I'm so thankful.

I stayed at the Gresham Oregon location May 18 - 21. The staff were very pleasant and the room was larger than expected. I had no issues and for the price, was a great experience. I was a smoker and got the top floor which I loved. I saw some of the other negative reviews from patrons to this motel. If you want more, go to the Hilton. Thank you Motel 6 for a great experience.

Saff was rude.was over charged.the toilet didn't flush correctly.room smelled like an ash tray.floors were disgusting.don't recommend ever.

Worst place ever Management very rude not nice at all especially when you coming from a long trip and lose your identification card but have a picture of it to show it is you will never recommend anyone coming here tbh I hope it gets shut down and they make it a shelter

Don't let the outside fool you. My room is amazing. They are doing great work. As we all know great work takes time. Check in and it's an escape. Keep up the hard work. Your tomorrow will prosper from today's tool.

We were 1 minute past 11 and the lady at the front threatened us. I was about to call the cops.this is am update I left a galaxy watch I'm the hotel and when I tried to get it back I was told I was a liar.worst place and customer service

I am from out of town and rented a room here at this location for a few nights and i would like to leave a review on the front desk receptionist named sierra i believe she very kind and greeted me with a welcoming smile and was very helpful as well for that i will be back again!

The room was not cleaned there was soap in shower from prior guest the floors where dirty horrible experience never going back to this location again

The room provided was probably in the worst condition and location. One of the room was on the outside just up the stairs and every time we opened the door, mosquitoes and flies and moths and whatnot flew in. There were ants in the room and holes in the wall. The room lacked lights, mattress has stains and the paint on the wall was fading and bad. Looks like no one ever cared to wipe down the walls.
The other room was none the better, the microwave was missing tray and to hide that they simply disconnected it. The room service came in morning only to replace toiletries. Every bit else of the room was left as is, untouched and messy. Definitely not worth the money spent and definitely not going to book another Motel 6.
To top it off they show a pool in pictures which might have been there at one point but it’s only a parking lot now. I really recommend Motel6 to hire better cleaners and upgrade property listing. Definitely not worth the money right now in its current condition.

Very upset we were sleeping on sheets that were very old had those knotty like all over them very
Rough. The mattress was liking sleeping on mattress with no cushion to it. We're both in our 70 with medical problems with backs. Very disappointed. Everything else was very nice.
