Axle on my camper (and home…) burned out on the side of Mt Hood on a Friday night. It was completely mangled/destroyed and just the worst of places to happen. -Almost a total loss.

I called every shop in a 4 hour radius and most didn’t even answer because of the time.

Mike was the only one to answer and take the time listen to my problems.

He kept the lights on until 9pm on a Friday night to custom build me an exact replacement axle for my camper, to include electric brakes, and the axle seats welded to fit my leaf springs.

He didn’t charge extra or ask if it could wait till the morning — He knew it was a dire situation and he did the right thing for a stranger, regardless of the time or place.

I cannot tell you how thankful I am for this kind stranger. He saved me from an absolute nightmare of a day…

As a prior aircraft mechanic, I’m confident Mike can help or connect you with whatever industrial, mechanical, fabrication, repair needs you may have. He’s a real Jack of all Trades and a rare and dying breed. What an honor and privilege to have met this man.

Thanks again Mike — it wasn’t just an axle and you get that.

I needed trailer parts ASAP. They had them in stock and super reasonably priced. Best prices and most knowledgeable on trailer everything. I will definitely be getting our trailer parts here. We pull trailers everyday. We have no need to look any further for our parts solutions.

Picked up a 14’ raft trailer with roller, spare tire, winch, and stake pockets from MS Metal. Very well made trailer that we have now had for several years. We’ll thought our design with Heavy duty axle, real tires and wheels - we’ve hauled 10s of thousands of pounds of rafts, gear and construction debris. Our trailer has been to over 30 states and is simply one the best pulling trailers I’ve owned. No swaying, easy to back up, sturdy and the lights work! The stake pockets are a big plus as we’ve made removable 2x6 sides to also use as a utility trailer for yard debris, firewood, etc. The winch and roller allows me to load a completely rigged 16’ raft all by myself.

Mikes a busy man, but we got our trailer in a reasonable timeline with no complaints. He makes these trailers himself one a time and we’re impressed with what we got. Our family has really appreciated this trailer. Thanks!

I was looking for a used or new 12ft raft trailer, and after a couple months of research, settled on a new one from MS Metal Shop. After talking to Mike Schultz, and with some suggestions from him, agreed to have him build me a 7ftx12ft over wheel flat bed trailer with a roller on the back. Agreeing on the price and time of delivery, Mike delivered as promised. Trailer tow very well, and with the 3500lbs torsion axle, rides nicely over rough roads.
Being a one person business, it takes time to fab these trailers up. If you have the time, Mike will build and deliver a quality trailer.

Mike made my husband and I a good raft trailer in 2020 so we called him again in 2021 to build us a 4x8 utility trailer. 4 months now of hearing excuses & delays we requested our deposit back and took our business elsewhere. He said he had all parts on hand, and was only waiting for time to get this trailer built, but were given multiple excuses on each missed deadline. We were patient, and flexible with the increased costs up until the 5th missed deadline so we decided to take our business elsewhere. This owner should have been more up front with realistic timeliness instead of misleading us. Suggest you take your business elsewhere unless you want to continually hear excuses each month as to why you aren't getting your trailer built as promised. He'll just keep putting you off for his "bigger customers".

Had our trailer about a year and half now. No problems.

I pulled up the rough cut lumber he used for decking and painted both sides (just seemed like a good idea, might've been good for decades). When I did that all the underside looked as good as what showed.

Other than greasing the hubs all I do is load it and tow it. Does great.

I have to say Mike does a very good job building trailers. He built us a trailer back in 2011 and it has held up very well. We have hauled stuff all over the US with this trailer and it is really build solid. Mike is easy to work with and all around a great guy! You won't regret going with them!
