My Brother's Crawfish reviews
16Super expensive but so damn good, I got the snow crab with shrimp and clamps, and have had the crawfishes before everything I got was tippy top notch
I freaking love this place. For far less than I expected I had a fun and delicious meal with my entire family. Including the one that hates anything that comes out of the ocean. Many many options for the food. I personally love the hush puppies and the soft shell crab for apps. The boils are where it is at here.
Really puzzled by all the great reviews. The staff were amazing and attentive, but the food is subpar. If you’re a fan of crab boils- old bay seasoning with gobs of seasoning left over in the bag, garlic noodles, different flavor options- this place is not it. The sauce is vinegary and had the consistency of water.
Reading recent reviews, it appears we arrived on an ON evening. We ordered the fried seafood special, and a boil. Both were excellent quality and super flavorful. Cajun bloody Mary was perfect, and the hush puppies were better than good. I think another establishment in Kenton might do hush puppies slightly better though. Our server was absolutely fabulous, she could give instructions to servers everywhere on best practices!
We will be back!
The seafood boil was delicious! We ordered a pound of dungeness crab and it was more than enough for two people when combined with the shrimp and add-ons we ordered. Our waitress recommended we combine the garlic butter and medium spicy sauce and it turned out perfect. The only downside is the parking in the complex the restaurant is in is horrible.
Always fresh sea food by the pound an original place for somthing different. Friendly wait staff.
Second update: we started with bacon wrapped shrimp for an appetizer then fresh food by the pound? I had king crab, clams, head on shrimp, corn, mushrooms, red potato. We had chicken strips, breaded seasoned fryed shrimp.
The broth for our boil was out of this world good. Highly recommend this place. Our waitress was awesome too!
The lobster pop was incredible and made for a perfect appetizer for a nice crawfish boil on a stormy night.
No other place has authentic Cajun seafood dishes like this place. Great blackened catfish.
This place MUST have gotten a new owner or something in the last few months. The restaurant looked dingy and the waitress was very cold. The food was AWFUL and overpriced for what seemed to be frozen and microwaved fish. Based on looking at other reviews, the menu or recipes MUST have been changed because nothing matched up to the amazing reviews.the oysters were god awful and if I don’t get food poisoning it will be a miracle. One of the worst meals i’ve ever had. I never leave reviews but because this place has such a good rating i felt compelled to say something: (would not recommend
Atmosphere was great and so was staff, the food tasted alright at first. However I developed a stomaches ache and then gotten very sick after I got home.
I don't believe the ingredients were as fresh as they could've been, either that or they weren't cooked to temperature.
We used to like this place.but last time we went there and ordered one pound of king crab (it was my birthday party) and two pounds of Dungeness crab. When we got out order to say that we were in shock is to say nothing. They brought us 6 tiny legs disgustingly pale pink yellow colour and claimed it was king crab (the Dungeness crab looked great). It was not even close to a pound. Maybe a little over half of a pound. We called a manager, she came, looked at it and said Well, with king crab we just give you 5-6 legs, but we don't weight them. But they charge everyone per pound!
We asked the waiter to take it back - we could not eat it - too much work to get the meat out of those tiny legs.they still charged us like it was the whole pound ($47) though we didn't even tasted it. I told the manager that it is pure cheating. She could care less.if you ever go there bring a scale. They will lie in your face. I've never had such bad experience in a restaurant before. Usually at least they pretend they care.it just doesn't get any worse than that.
Blackened Alligator appetizer was tasty but very small for $13 (maybe 1/4 cup of meat and a small salad). Crawfish boil (medium and garlic butter) were great. Got a pound of each shared between two people and it was enough food if you arent super hungry. Broths were great tasting.
I must have driven by this little shopping center a hundred times and never known there was at least one amazing gem within! My crawfish obsessed son wanted to try eating them instead of just finding them for his birthday. This was the closest place to us that had them on the menu, so away we went.and are so glad we did!
The staff were extremely friendly and helped us crawfish newbies out. We got a couple different boils, some appetizers, and an entree, and it was all delicious! The charmingly playful decor and sweet tunes were the cherry on the crawfish cake!
The boil broth is not really that flavorful. But everything else like the calamari and poboy sandwhiches are good!
Went into dinner with high expectations seeing the high ratings and having heard of this spot. Upon entering thought it could be a tasty hole in the wall type restaurant with just some low effort decorating. Unfortunately food was bland (Cajun?) and very low quality seafood. Waitress seemed like she knew the quality had gone downhill because she had a quite careless attitude. Not sure if the chef got drunk or the establishment had to cut back on costs but I would not recommend to anyone.
