National Car Rental, Redmond OR

I’m a regular renter with loyalty status so it concerns me how National must treat their infrequent customers. National has not processed my return after an entire week, preventing me from submitting my receipt to my employer for reimbursement for this travel expense. In addition, I’ve been assured every day by customer service that I’ll hear from the local branch manager within 24 hours and now it’s been 7 days without a single call or message from them. The customer service reps also told me the local branch has no phone number and if I’d like assistance I can go to the airport and ask for it. Not sure how that typically works considering people rent cars for travel and don’t live in those locations… either way this will be the last time I rent from this company, the customer service has been abysmal.

One of the worst counter service rental car agencies I have ever dealt with. Picked up a car and when they gave me the rental car keys, did not return my license to me, I left forgetting my license at pickup, that’s on me. The 2 days they held my license without calling me, to let me know I had left it behind. That is on them and the 1 star rating.

Picked up at LAX mid-evening. Shuttle to National was prompt, upon arrival it literally only took me a few minutes to pick a vehicle from the Emerald Aisle and get checked out. No high pressure, upselling, hidden fees or surprise charges afterwards. Returning was just as simple and straightforward, I was on the shuttle back to the airport within 5 minutes of returning to National.

Pros; quick and easy with prompt shuttle service

Cons; about the only con would be that they're not the cheapest - but then again, I also didn't have to wait in a customer service line for 2 hours just to save $15-$20 day.
