We contracted with this company do landscape our backyard a few years ago. One of the trees they planted died and they replaced it with a new one. Since then, that re-planted tree has now died and the company has changed hands. They have been non-responsive to my calls and voice messages. Unacceptable!

Unfortunately, our overall experience with Newport was poor. We do like some of the finished product and the crews were polite and hardworking (we even tipped them). Where the company fell seriously short was in two critical areas: communication and issue resolution. We had four different leads on our project; there was no knowledge transfer between them, which resulted in a slew of things being missed or done incorrectly. Many things were promised by one lead and then never carried out by the next. A few issues were ultimately escalated to management but nobody ever called to work things out, instead they sent a rather curt email, with a demand for payment before any corrections would be made. Payment was then made (timely) and we have not heard from anyone. At this point, it’s clear they have no intention of returning to make things right. It would have been easy for them to just take care of the issues, we would have been happy enough and this review would not exist. This has turned out to be one of the worst experiences we’ve had with a contractor. It’s also been unnecessarily stressful. Our recommendation is to take your landscaping projects elsewhere, but plan way in advance as
landscaping companies in Bend are swamped with business
these days. **Update: out of the blue I got a call from the foreman and they ended up taking care of our main complaint, took a while but they did it. Happy they came back so changing rating from 1 to 3 stars.

***It’s March 2021 now and I’m upping the review to 4 stars. We had a leak which turned out to be a faulty part and they were on our job the next morning and took care of the issue. Thought that was really good customer service!

I recently needed to have my sprinkler system winterized. I needed service ASAP as weather
forecast was for freezing conditions. I called Janna at Newport and she was able to move heaven and earth to get me on the schedule. Aurora showed up the next day and did a very professional and thorough job. Thanks to your great staff I am very grateful and have signed up for your permanent service. I would highly recommend Newport Landscaping.

Had someone come out for a bid. Nice guy! After several weeks of waiting no quote. He did email me that the bid was coming. Three weeks later.still no bid. In total waited over five weeks for a bid after he stated one was coming. I emailed him to say if a bid takes this long.a start and finish would be even longer.

Had to call back to finish easy clean up mow/trim. Then they still didn't do a good job or finish it all. Then charged me about $500 on the smallest of lots. This is after paying them quite a lot to do a small patio. They left the site a mess. Only did the bare minimum. Etc etc. Look elsewhere.

I recently arranged for a routine maintenance of spring turn-on of the sprinkler system. Service was excellent. It's a new home and this is the first sprinkler usage. I assumed there would be no issues, but there was an obvious sprinkler leak. He fixed it immediately and we agreed the broken pipe was due to heavy equipment rolled over the ground above the irrigation, presumably during the end of construction. I was so glad he was here and could do the fix in 1/10 the time it would have taken me. I'm keeping their name for future landscaping development.

I set up an appointment to have my sprinklers blown out 2 weeks in advance. They never showed up or called. I waited at my house all day. I called to find out if they were still coming, no one answered so I left a message. Still haven't heard anything. Now I can't get anyone to come blow out my system. I will never do business with them again.

Only one employee was very polite and friendly. His name was Chris, a irragator. Few others I have delt with were lazy and seemed high, and or drunk. I decided to continue with someone else.

The men that provide our weekly service are awesome! Rain, snow, freezing weather, whatever.they are there making sure our lawn is maintained and looking great. We truly appreciate these employees soooo much! Thank you!

PAID THEM SPRAY WEEDS IN MY LAWN, THE SPRAY WAS NOT EFFECTIVE, SO I CALLED THEM TO COME BACK AND SPRAY THEM AGAIN. THEY E-MAILED ME THEY WOULD BE BACK AS SOON AS THE WEATHER COOLED DOWN TO SPRAY AGAIN. E-MAILED THEM AND CALLED THEM, NO RETURN REPLY.

I got on the sprinkler blowout list in September. I was told my system would be taken care of. No one came out. I emailed & called so many times. No one ever got back to me. It’s now late January & they never completed the service they promised me and GHOSTED me. Who does that? ! Terrible company.

Edit to add: the owner replied to my review and asked me to call him. I have left 3 messages for him, and have not heard back. Yes Mr West, I have the right company. Below you’ll see part of the email chain I have with one of your employees agreeing to perform this service. Your company inbox and voicemail must be littered with messages from me, not ONE SINGLE ONE was ever returned. It seems the only way I can get your attention is on here, so maybe you’ll see this. Phone doesn’t work, email doesn’t work, how are you guys in business?

Buyer beware - this company doesn't send out bills in the mail. Instead, they send your account directly to collections in six months. This is the first business in Bend that I've had this happen with - everyone else sends you a bill in the mail. Save yourself the hassle and pick one of the other thousand of landscapers in Bend.

We spent all summer trying to find a landscaper to fix our broken sprinkler system. I called and emailed multiple companies and nobody would respond to me. Then I called Newport Ave Landscaping. They made an appointment for me immediately. They showed up exactly when they said they would (and even called to let me know they were on the way). The service technician was incredibly friendly, quick, and helpful. What we thought was going to be a huge repair job turned out to be one stuck valve. The tech cleaned it out (didn't try to sell me a new one), reprogrammed our box, adjusted some sprinkler heads, and everything worked great! He did it all in less than an hour. We were so impressed. Even better, he didn't try to up-sell us on anything and he explained what he was doing as he did it (we know nothing about sprinkler systems). We will absolutely use this company again for all of our irrigation needs!

My initial appointment with Newport had a few hiccups, but they worked to immediately correct the issue. The staff I worked with were professional and helpful in troubleshooting my system. I will continue to use their services and won't hesitate to recommend them to a friend.

This is an awful company! Employees drink alcohol and use drugs at job sites! Most of the employees are not experienced and are just winging it!

Where should I start. Newport Ave landscape is by far the worse company I ever worked for. I have 22 years landscaping construction experience and worked for many great landscape companies and I can't believe there still in business. They lie and con all there client I have personally witnessed. I worked there straight for year and 2 months promised raises, bonuses and never recirecei anything. I watched them hire all kinds of cons and lazy people that lie lnd place blame on others. All higher up people have no real landscape experience just pretend to know what there doing until someone like me dose it for them. Worse thing I hate is liers and this company has lots. They hired me to go around and fix all there problems and drive all the people in trouble around with no lisence. I put in my two weeks notice because I couldn't handle the lies and the horrible unfit working conditions. In my oppinion this is not a good place to work or get work done. Now Sterling the owner text me told me not to right a bad review or bad things would happen to me. So now I'm writing a review. I really dont appreciate getting threatened. Least the home owners that I did jobs for were happy but I don't work there no more so don't go there.

I was interested in lawn aeration treatment at my home. I scheduled a 9am appointment for a rep to come out and provide an estimate. No one showed up. I called a bit after 9: 30am to confirm. They assured me the rep would be there. I waited until almost noon, but no one showed. I understand that schedules can change and people may get delayed for all kinds of reasons. What irritates me, however, it the lack of communication. They should put more effort into keeping in contact with clients - both current and prospective. A poor experience for me with this company.sorry, but I'll look elsewhere.

I would use Newport for any of my small jobs or big jobs. My lawn always looks amazing when they are finished and I appreciate their attention to detail on my flower beds. I’m so glad that my search for a company that I can trust is over. Thanks for making my property stand out from the neighbors!

I had an amazing experience with Newport Landscaping. I had a pretty limited budget, but they came in, gave me some great options and and turned my dusty backyard into a truly beautiful space. The where in and out in two days and all of the crew where friendly, non-intrusive and very professional. I will definitely work with them again!
