Next Level Burger Hawthorne

This is a vegan, plant only burger place. Not much flavor in the plant based burger. Sweet potatoe fries were delicious.

The service was top notch. I picked up a take out order, no problems. The staff member that handed my bag to me was very nice and the peppermint shake was excellent.
However the food itself was awful. The bun and the 'meat' were soggy and tasteless. The portion was so small that I was embarrassed I had paid as much as I did. Definitely not the worst dining experience I've had but I certainly won't be returning to Next Level again.

I ate here way back in 2015 or so. My sisters and I made the trip to Portland for the food in large part, as we’re vegans but live in Alberta Canada where there are little to no vegan restaurants. And let me tell you, this was by far the best place we ate at. I think about it still all the time! The burgers were good, but what stood out to me was their soy based soft serve. I used to love milkshakes and I miss them since going vegan, but I can honestly say I had the best milkshake of my life here, and it was totally vegan! Can’t wait to come back some day! Also the lady who took our orders was a delight:)

UPDATE 11/30/23:

Next Level Burger has been incredibly kind in responding and resolving the issue. I've ordered here countless times over the last year and haven't had this issue when ordering though DoorDash.

Ubereats has refused to refund me and ghosted me. I will be making sure to mention how they've dealt with this through the BBB.

It's uncertain whether the rocks I found were from the restaurant or Ubereats.

But I would highly recommend going through DoorDash for any delivery service.

I've ordered here so many times and never have had a safety issue before. The food is amazing and definitely supported my vegan journey.

I will be sure to leave them a nice on Doordash because I got such wonderful service from there so many times. This was the first and last time I will be ordering NLB from Ubereats.

I highly recommend NOT ordering from Ubereats but highly DO RECOMMEND Next Level Burger. They care about the customers experience and want to make things right if there any issues.

I've ordered from here countless times and today there were tiny rocks in my burger. I am wondering what happened, maybe my delivery driver dropped my burgers? I'm not sure but this could have hurt my teeth or worse. I really think they need to wrap their burgers better and check the quality of safety when making food. This was one of my favorite places to eat and I'm very disappointed and worried about how rocks got in my burger.

All I did was order a small tots, and they were burnt.

I understand people get busy but leaving the tater tots in the fryer that long, And then seeing them in the window and then passing the quality test, It's pretty irritating.

Like when you put those tots in the bag, you accepted that low of quality to give to somebody?

I would hate to taste the burgers.

Great vegan food! But too expensive for its own good. Burger, fries, medium shake for $25. Blah

Im adjusting my review because the owner reached out and offered feedback and tried to make some things right.

Don’t appreciate when a business upcharges excessively. The chicken in the ceasar was included and they have removed it a couple of weeks ago and asked ppl to spend an additional 5 dollars to add it back. Coming here once a week throughout the work day will stop. There are plenty of Vegan businesses that don’t extort their customers like this.

Next Level Burger is a plant-based paradise! Was warmly welcomed by the staff and walked through the menu. It is a fun / bright welcoming vibe with plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces. The diverse menu, especially the variety of sandwiches, left me spoiled for choice. After going back and forth on the many different burger options, I landed on the Beyond Fire Burger. It was a flavor explosion, and the fact that it's made with organic ingredients was a bonus. The sweet potato fries were the perfect crunchy side, and the organic vanilla milkshake was a wonderful sweet treat.

Great well lit indoor restaurant with optional outdoor seating. 2 clean code access restrooms. Wonderful burgers with various options and additions galore. Love the sweet potato fries. Will definitely return!

I had the cookies n' cream shake, fire chzburger, and ChiliChz Fries. Everything was 'next level' amazing; very flavorful and juicy. I was sad that I could not find time to stop here again on my way out of Portland! Highly recommend for vegan and non-vegans alike.

OMG, i just tried their limited time Redwood Truffle burger and only modified it to add their organic pickles. It was way gooood!

Terrible communication. We waited 30 mins and our order had been ready for who knows how long. We had to walk up and ask. Literally the only people sitting in the building.

We came for burger week and the Beyond Cluckin' Good burgers were great, and the fries were good, and the milkshakes were great, too! The staff were nice and helpful despite being right in the middle of burger week.

All vegetarian so I never need to worry if something on the menu will be suitable for me. Delicious house sauce and the people are great.

This is just the perfect place, especially for families or groups that just want a good burger and fries (or chickie sammy). I had the American cheeseburger (smash burger), fries, and a mint chocolate chip shake.and I had just the best time sitting down and eating everything.and the people were so friendly and helpful.even when I wandered off and forgot to pay (I was dazzled by the vegan shakes in your choice of soy or coconut based). This will absolutely become a staple for my family.
