Delicious food in this popular French restaurant. The Duck Confit Toast (Fromage D'affinois, Huckleberry Jam, Arugula, Pickled Shallots, Pink Peppercorn, Nasturium) was deliciousness on a baguette. Highly recommended. And it goes very well with the Sunriver Rippin Pale Ale if you feel like having beer instead of wine. One more thing, the main entry door is truly heavy, so push hard. Bon appétit!

I'll start off by saying that the staff is lovely, and the cocktails are both fantastic & decently priced
I had the grilled octopus, roasted squash, and lemongrass creme brulee.
The two main dishes were very salty. Mostly from the sauces that came with them. The octopus sauce was also unexpectedly sweet as well.
They were served with potatoes that were JoJo level fried. The roasted squash, was also fried. When I asked one of the staff about it, he said, "oh yes, it's roasted. And then we deep fry it. ". I wish that heaven mentioned on the menu, because I would not have ordered it if I'd known.
I asked for a side of bread and butter, thinking that would be something of a palate cleanser. It comes as a beautifully a presented Baguette with butter, and yet also seemed somehow fried, and the butter too salty.
For dessert I ordered the lemongrass creme brulee. It was serviceable. Lovely burnt sugar on top, and pickled mandarin orange slices for garnish. But the body of it was heavier then I normally think of creme brulee. And the menu said it had a Thai chili/ ginger component, which I did not taste it all.
Overall, kind of disappointing. I went in expecting fresh tasting, slightly inventive dishes. What I found was too salty, and sweet, with an over reliance of fried items.

I wouldn’t recommend. Everything was very salty and overpriced. We got the scallop main. It was $44 for 2 scallops and some vegetables. Insanity.

Best food in Portland! The hamachi crudo was to die for! Not one thing we ordered was less than fantastic. Will definitely be returning!

Food was amazing, drinks are a bit over priced for what you get but overall it was all very delicious.

Every single item I had was extremely over salted. And I love salt, so that says something. The burger, onions, and fries were almost inedible which is frustrating for such a nice place! I will say however, the oysters were absolutely amazing. I did let them know about the salt and was not expecting them to comp the burger (I asked them not to) so I will say their service is top notch. Could have been an off night, it happens, but it really shouldn’t at a fine dining establishment.

Hip and fun, but food was slightly hit and miss. Lobster roll was too heavily sauced (mayo based) for my liking, but the raw oysters and the tuna salad were lovely. Certainly would go back to try again as the menu was interesting and I could have tried a few more things.

Food had nice presentation, poor taste. Lobster roll was drenched in mayonnaise with no detectable seasoning. Also difficult to eat. Broiled oysters were sad little blobs of flavorless, horrible mouth feel. Carpaccio was overrun with piles of vegetables. I have fought the battle of Normandie, and am sadly out a couple of hundred bucks and my time.

The meal and the lovely attention to balancing flavors and presentation will live on in my memory. We had brioche and baby lettuces as a start and were immediately delighted. Two of us had the scallops and were overjoyed. Two of us had gnocchi and were enraptured. All of us ate off of each others’ plates. We were too full for dessert but had it anyway - don’t sleep on the miso black cherry ice cream or the bread pudding. Between us, we four ordered most cocktails offered and they were all lovely and somehow both simple and fancy. And after all this one more incredible praise: the meal will live on in my memory and part of what lodges it there was the incredible, detailed, kind service. Six out of five stars for service! We loved, loved, loved celebrating our special occasion there and may need to make our way back even though we don’t live in in Portland.

Great find! The cocktails are unique and delicious. We got the ribs, oysters, prawns, grilled carrots - all were fantastic. The miso ice cream was also great. Everyone was kind and helpful, atmosphere and vibe are great. Will definitely be back!

Update again: been here 5 or 6 times now and every single time it's Just Amazing. There're other places as good as this in Portland but all of them are twice the price (tercet, le pigeon, langbaan). At the moment I highly recommend the carrots, the prawns, the burger, the ribs, the scallops

One of the best restaurants we've ever been to (#2 specifically), & the best in the PNW so far. So many interesting unique flavors, everything so creative and delicious. The scallops specifically were one of the best things I've ever had, also loved the octopus, the crab beignets, the root vegetable trio, the chocolate mousse. $75/person with 4 courses each.

Update: Been here two more times and every time we come we have at least a couple new "one of the best things I've ever had" dishes. The new gnocchi with the belper knolle is about the most comforting thing I've ever had, the freakin burger is unreal. For the price, under $100 per person, I can't recommend any restaurant more highly than this

Amazing food, super good service, fun music and vibe. Some of the best octopus I've had! Definitely going back!

This place is so good. The carrots helped shape my faith in humankind. Sitting at the bar on a long summer day near closing time is a great vibe.

Normandie was a lovely night out. I sat on the patio, which was nice. The cocktail i got wasn’t my favorite I’d ever had, and I found the prices to be a bit high. Other than that, the food was good and staff were kind.

Genuinely one of the best dining experiences of my life. The burger was probably the best I’ve ever had, and the lobster roll was easily top 2. Don’t sleep on the carrots either, those were excellent (we ate them too quickly to get a photo). The prawns were perfectly poached, and melted in your mouth. I wish I lived in Portland so I could eat here regularly. Highly recommend.
