North Fork Yachats River Covered Bridge reviews
5If you enjoy covered bridges, then the nice 15 minute drive inland from Yachats is worth your time. It’s well maintained, and very photogenic. It’s private property on the other side of the bridge, so we were respectful and didn’t drive through. We just walked through, and soaked up the big wooden beams and the ambiance of the bridge. Not much parking, but we’ve visited the bridge 2x in the last 2 yrs, and only encountered 3 other visitors, and they all were delightful, and had fun life stories to share.
This is on private property, another local person told us about it and gave us directions. It is a hidden gem, but the reason we went was the breathtaking tree beside it. It is the biggest tree I've ever seen with my own eyes.something straight out of Lord of the Rings, covered in moss, majestic. I was so overwhelmed I cried.
We decided to drive thru the bridge, then back through to park and walk it. It was cool to see. Other side of the bridge was very muddy and made it hard to turn around [in a sedan]. We saw a few people on the way down the road and everyone we saw waved and seemed friendly.
We found this on the advice of a local lady. Most definitely worth the time to drive out there. There's an Oak tree that has to be hundreds of years old! There are nothing but private residences along the road, so be respectful.
It was fine. Nothing too remarkable about this bridge; as a matter of fact, it's one of the shortest covered bridges in Oregon. It's a pleasant red, and in good repair.
It's a 15-minute drive from Yachats, with the last mile+ being unpaved, and the road dead ends right after the bridge. Private property and a couple of houses nearby, there's parking but but much else. Stop by if you're in the area, but otherwise you're not missing much by skipping this one.
