1 I had a great experience despite me being a novice in things related to steel and buying only a small quantity.
The company is happy to take standard steel products (in my case carbon steel 4 inch wide, and 1/8 inch thick) and cut it in pieces (4 inch long). The order takes a day or two to process. I had to file down the sharp cut edges. But was otherwise happy with the product.
When I visited Pacific Machinery & Tool Steel, the sales person - Mike - gave me a few carbon steel pieces to experiment with. That was truly appreciated and helped me greatly in practicing my welding skills.
When I asked for a 2 foot by 3 foot 1/4 inch metal plate to build a welding table, they recommended two other suppliers as they did not carry such a plate in their inventory. It was overall a really pleasant and efficient experience. I will certainly come back with future orders.
