As a 100% Service Connected Disabled Military Officer/Veteran married to a children’s Behavioral/ Mental Health Case Management Provider with a heart condition, we’re not new to life’s trials but we were new to tractor buying.

Thanks to Drew Pirtle (Territory Manager for Papé Machinery – Roseburg), our year long local “tractor buying” quest for THE best product from THE best Dealer at THE best overall VALUE has finally been completed. The winner? John Deere from Papé Machinery Roseburg/Drew Pirtle.

We are a heads up, chests out, red, white and blue “Service Before Self” type family that owns a small 5+ acre, private riverfront property. This is not only our home, it is also our dream to develop it as a “nature escape” place for fellow Veterans, First-Responders and those in need of some R & R to also enjoy. Problem is, trying to develop and maintain such a space with health concerns, limited resources and just hand tools was becoming far more costly in more ways than one. We absolutely needed a small, multi-functional tractor to leverage our time, money and health!

So we began researching, learning, testing and visiting every dealer online, via social media and in our local area. What did we learn after 300+ hours of post collegiate level research and due diligence? Well, everybody thinks that they have the “best tractor” but apples to apples, only John Deere actually does and deep down everybody knows it. John Deere is irrefutably the bench mark gold standard of tractors - all others are simply a compromise. That pretty much sums it up.

That being firmly established, another equally important ingredient to our tractor buying equation was quality of Sales, Service and Support. This is where Territory “Sales” Manager Drew Pirtle and Papé Machinery Roseburg easily took first place and even went above and beyond the call of duty.

You see, even though there are multiple people to conduct those areas of business at Papé, Drew literally handled it ALL for us. From our very first phone call through purchasing to free delivery and even a couple of lengthy private instruction sessions he squeezed in, DREW literally was (and is) an “Army Of One” so to speak. He’s definitely someone who walks the talk, knows his stuff and makes Papé shine. More than that, he’s the kind of stand up guy that puts honesty, commitment, dedication, professionalism, concern for others and a much needed backbone back into this country.

Drew did NOT “sell” us anything. He simply LISTENED to our needs like a very trusted and knowledgeable friend and HELPED US TO BUY what we actually needed without the BS or hype we found in more places than we care to mention. Think “car salesman”. That’s not Drew. Think “family man, friend & advisor”. That’s Drew.

Think that’s too much? Think again. Very recently we had massive wildfires sweep through our area and destroy thousands of acres. In fact, despite over a published 1,700 personnel fighting hard to contain these blazes, they’re still burning as of this writing. The largest in our area has reached just under two miles from our home.

So, who was the FIRST person to call us personally to ask if we were okay, offer to help us with evacuation and even offered us a place to stay? It wasn’t the Sheriff’s Department or even our immediate family. It was Drew Pirtle. Who does that in today’s world? Now you know. Thank you.

Real informative, great customer service, prices are to be expected but all around great place to shop for John Deer stuff!
