Copper joined our family when he was just 8 weeks old. At the time we were in the middle of a move. I had attempted to train him myself but having two young boys who also wanted to help train was a bit of a disaster. This led to no obedience and poor manners.

He was a rambunctious pup who didn’t know how to walk on a leash without pulling and lacked manners. He would jump onto guests that came over and barked excessively while in the back yard. It was as if he was the boss of the house. I knew something needed to be done because it became really hectic in the household.

I was referred to Paw and Hand K9 by a young man who I had met at the park. He had the same breed dog as Copper (Australian shepherd) and he was playing frisbee with him. I observed for quite some time prior to approaching him. It was truly impressive how well behaved his dog was. I had asked if he had trained him himself and if he could share any tips and tricks. He had told me he just picked him up from boarding and he kindly gave me contact of Merissa and her team.

I didn’t even hesitate to contact her. I scheduled a meet and greet with Merissa immediately. Her and I went over the different programs thoroughly and what to expect upon dropping him off.

At first we were sad to send him away for so long but knowing we would meet one on one every other week made it a little easier. They also sent updated pictures and videos often which was pretty awesome to see the progress that was being made.

We picked him up today after 7 weeks of him being away and the difference is phenomenal. He’s like a completely different pup. He is calm and respectful. He stays at my side during walks which makes them more enjoyable and also has great recall.

Charlee was amazing and really helped me to be consistent with our follow through. The support doesn’t stop once you take your dog home. They are available for questions at any time. They provide a ton of goodies to take home with you to keep up on training after adjusting back into the home. They also provide follow-up lessons after the program to make sure you and your dog are adjusting and progressing well after their return home.

I highly recommend Paw and Hand K9!

We've had a wonderful experience having our pup trained, day school and boarding. Everyone is very friendly, knowledgeable and take the time to get to know you and your pup! Our pup was a little wild girl who is now listening and using her manners!

Having had a traumatic accident that resulted in my having a shoulder replacement 2 weeks after I got her meant I needed help training my Australian Cattle dog Maizie. When I took her there at 4 months she was focused on pulling while leashed, wanting to chase cars and more than willing to make me her chew toy.
Fast forward a month and she completed the Super Puppy program. She's now a pleasure to walk, no longer pulling or wanting to chase cars and will wait at doors until released. When I had company over for dinner she held her bed stay while we ate.
I really appreciate how I was involved in her training weekly, and have our first revisit this week. Maizie knows the drills.now I need training.

We sent our year old husky to paw and hand k9 due to her lack of leash skills, manners, failure to greet dogs properly, jumping, awful recall, lack of social skills. Huskies being one of the most stubborn breeds to train we initially were hesitant if she would be receptive to the training. Olivia went for the 6 week board and train freedom program. Even after the first two weeks of Olivia being there they had completely broken her out of her shell. She was following commands and doing things we never could have imagined. Kassandra was her trainer and we could not have been more pleased with her and how well she bonded with Olivia. She was communicative. We visited every week for training sessions and kassandra was very knowledgeable. Always answered any questions we had with thorough and through full answers. My wife and I have a 10 month old and are expecting our second this December. Kassandra knew how important it was for us to have Olivia safely walk at our sides or at the side of the stroller because we will soon have 2 under the age of 2. Kassandra even offered to find a wheelchair, stroller or something similar to work with Olivia until we saw her at our next prep to make sure her walking skills with a stroller were solid. I don’t feel there was anything that Kassandra could have done different to make our experience any different. We were so incredibly pleased. Ashley is wonderful. She’s on top of scheduling for appointments to
Make sure it worked with our schedule as we were driving 4 hours for our appointments to meet with Olivia for her preps. We love paw and hand k9 and will continue to Recommend them to anyone who looks for any type of training ranging from behavior modification to the freedom program. Things we have always dreamed of being able to do with our sweet pup we now can. It’s all because of what they do here at paw and hand and Olivias trainer Kassandra! We will continue to take Olivia when we go on holidays, and day care. Thank you guys! You are awesome!

Kassandra did a wonderful job with our puppy. He loved being there for four weeks and came home with an amazing foundation (people comment on how well behaved he is for a five month puppy). Kassandra also was great at “training” us to work with him. I highly recommend!

I had found this training facility online and went to have a consult to find out more about their board and train and meet the staff. When I first got there I parked in the wrong area, but it allowed me to watch a trainer explaining to an owner what work they had been doing with his dog. I was very impressed by the depth of detail they were going into. When I read the message they'd sent me and went to the correct spot I spent well over an hour meeting with the owner.

We sat in the lobby area talking during our consult and I was amazed by how knowledgeable the owner/trainer was and the excellent questions that she was asking me concerning what I was looking to achieve with my dog. She also gave me some important things to consider regarding the training he's having now before he would be going to them. During our conversations there were a number of activities going on around us. A poodle puppy I'd seen training outside came in and practiced place on one of several cots in the room. A Rott went out then returned and went out again with a Lab, a Lab puppy came in and placed at the front desk staff, and the trainer made a couple of comments about things that needed done. It was all done so quietly and smoothly it didn't even interrupt the flow of the conversation but I definitely took notice of it. It showed me there was other high quality trainers on staff as well.

After going over training expectations with me they were able to determine which program would be best for my dog how, and how long he would need to stay with them. I knew when I went there that their programs appeared to be a nice fit for my dog. So I had an idea of what the cost might be and I was ready to make that investment. But it was nice when we finished and they explained what programs he would probably need and what dates they had available for him to start there wasn't any pressure for me to sign up right then. In fact, the owner actually suggested I might want to take a day or two to think about it.

I went ahead and signed up for the board and train, and as I was doing the paperwork we met another member of the staff. The staff groomer wanted to know if she could meet my dog, who she will be grooming. I'm so glad I let the two of them meet because my boy thought she was the awesome! She was down on the floor with him loving all over him and he ate it up. He's a big boy, but he's only 7 months old so he's still a bit of a goofball when he's being groomed. Knowing that he took to her so well made me feel really good about hid being groomed by her. Just another positive about this business as far as I'm concerned.

I took my Great Dane pup, Titus in for training due to some behavioral issues. He was barking excessively, mouthing, jumping, fearful and just difficult for me to train. I just picked him this morning after he spent 6 weeks being trained by Jesse and I have a different pup. He is obedient, well mannered and so much easier for me to handle. Most important, Jesse helped me learn what I need to do, being consistent etc… I am so glad I found PawNHand, and I will highly recommend them to anyone in need of help with their dog.

I sent in a wild animal with no control, and brought home a well behaved dog that doesn't even need a leash!

Before taking my dog to Paw & Hand K9, he had more control over me than I had over him. He was nippy, rambunctious, demanding, and not afraid to pick a fight if another animal came towards his food, toys, or person. He was anxious in public, and only recalled when he felt like it. My dog also has bilateral hip dysplasia, and will need to be calm and careful during his extensive recovery period after he receives a total hip replacement in the future.

Now, he is calm around the house, respectful of my other pets' personal space, walks by my side like a dream, and runs to me the first time I call his name. They took excellent care of him with his hip dysplasia, and even helped him learn some physical therapy activities while he was there.

The amount of one-on-one owner training they provide during my dog's training program is amazing. They provided me with lessons both on and off the property, so I could learn how to handle his issues wherever they may arise. They also sent me weekly photos and updates so I could stay in the loop with how my dog's training was progressing.

And when you take your dog home, the support doesn't stop there! They provide follow-up lessons after the program to make sure you and your dog are adjusting and progressing well, and make themselves available to answer any questions that might come up in-between visits.

We just got our 9 month old golden doodle back after 8 weeks of intensive training. Trainer Charlee told us it may be an adjustment coming back home, but we are already blown away by how well he’s doing and calm he is (puppy brain and all). He’s been following commands with few/no reminders. He walks perfectly on the leash. He even will stay on his bed for extended periods of time. We have a disabled daughter so it was very important we trained Barley early to be a well-behaved doggo. Can’t recommend Paw and Hand enough!

This is the second dog I’ve had the pleasure of Merissa and her team training. They are wonderful! They do a fabulous job of training the dogs and also getting owners up to speed. It’s great to have a dog that is trained. These folks are wonderful. Definitely the place to go to for your dog!

First, just to say overall, I couldn’t be happier with Paw and Hand. Freya came home last Friday and since we have been shopping all over with Freya right at my side. If Freya got a little distracted, I knew what to do because Paw and Hand made sure I had the tools and knowledge to ease the transition. Ellie was the perfect match as the trainer. She was very knowledgeable, always prepared, and professional. Ellie did an incredible job with Freya and I’ll be forever indebted. I did a lot of research before choosing Paw and Hand and I chose correctly! I thank you all with my whole heart for your hard work and dedication Lia

Life changing experience. Our dog is family and for her to master the commands helps us not feel stressed when we’re out in public or worried she’s going to run off and not return. I’m so thankful for paw and hand working so tedious to help our little girl be the best version of herself!

Paw & Hand was a huge blessing to us. We knew we wanted a dog-camp like training where they stay for an extended period and found them online. We chose the 4+ week Freedom Program. The reviews were great and that was our experience too. Our labradoodle Leo wasn’t a bad dog before but needed some better welcome manners, better leash walking, and more comfort in his kennel. They shape their training to your needs and having Leo back home has been amazing. It really is transformative what they accomplish in 4+ weeks. Charlee was our trainer and she rocked!

We also loved that it wasn’t just a program where they take your dog and then wish you luck at the end. We got to go train with Charlee and Leo every 2 weeks and then a take-home visit as well as 1 week and 1 month follow-ups after you take your dog home. They also send or post on IG lots of pictures and videos so you get to stay up to date.

We have been telling all of our family and friends to take their dogs here and will definitely be taking our future dogs here. The prices can seem daunting but it was so worth it and for us. Training costs are now just part of buying a dog after this experience. It makes a huge difference.

As I try to write this, I honestly am having such a hard time finding the words. Our dog, Harley has been at Paw and Hand for about three weeks now. Yesterday was my first day training with her and the difference I already see is so incredible. She is there for a behavior mod board and train. If you have a dog with behavior issues, as a dog mom you will know when I say it can be so tough! We love Harley so much and she is such a sweet girl but anything outside of her comfort zone or that causes stimulation is almost impossible for me to get her to stay calm and keep her focus on me.
After only having her a week or so, they did an update and every single one of their observations were completely on point. They read Harley and completely understood her issues. Once they saw her issues they immediately began addressing them. They have been so gracious with my texts checking in on her (yes I am that dog parent). The work that they have been able to accomplish in just a short amount of time is simply amazing. I was nearly brought to tears yesterday when Merissa was able to get Harley to a calm (this was training session one and her first time seeing me in weeks) state and able to get her to a down stay while I sat next to her! Honestly, I can go on and on!
If you are considering training for your dog, please make the investment! Merissa and her staff take the time to really get to know your needs, your dog's needs, and addresses them with perfection! I am eternally grateful and cannot wait to continue to learn and soak up all the information in our training sessions! A million thanks to Paw and Hand and their staff!
