My car's steering wheel had a broken clock spring. They charge for the inspection, labor, and for the cost of the replacement part. It came out to about $732 total. PDX Automotive was extremely professional, kind, and communicative throughout the whole process, and the steering wheel honestly feels better than ever now. We brought our car in on Tuesday morning for our appointment, and it was ready Wednesday afternoon. We booked an appointment a week in advance. Overall, I am happy with the quality of their work, and the efficiency of their team!

PDX Automotive was a total life saver! My power steering pump failed on the way to work in the morning! I gave them a call and they had my car in that after noon and fixed the same day! The price was good and fast service! Todd and John and all the staff were all great!

As a POC, I felt ignored and and unacknowledged about what I wanted done specifically as if they wanted to do their own thing. I asked for transmission change NOT FLUSH but still got billed for their mistakes. If you'd listen you'd actually have another customer but so long for now.

Great and friendly service. They changed my oil and gave all their recommendations for the vehicle afterwards. No sales pressure at all. As good as it gets with a mechanic.

After a $90 something general check today, they said the cabin filter was fine. Mom and I see a filthy cabin filter. Buyer beware.

Update: old filter went out in this morning's trash so I can't show the owner, but I wouldn't have bought a new one if the old were fine, honest.

Update 2: Jon worked with me to make it right and really cares about the customers' experience. Great customer service.

I've been a PDX Automotive customer for years. Their services are fairly priced. I have found them to be honest, both to tell me when I need to do something for my car and when I can wait to do something. Helping me prioritize maintenance is very valuable. Good people.

I just picked up my car from this mechanic not even 20 minutes ago and had to sit down to write a review immediately; PDX Automotive has provided me with some of the best customer care and mechanic work I've ever experienced in my 10 years of owning a car, and I can't wait to be a repeat customer in the future.

I originally came in for an issue with my front left wheel, and they fixed that issue very quickly and called to inform me that it was ready for pickup. On that call they also informed me of another service light that appeared on my dashboard, but didn't pressure me into allowing them to look into the issue - they simply wanted to inform me of the issue so I could keep an eye on it. In that call, I actually asked them to look into that service light if they had the time, and they were more than happy to do so. They brought my car back into the shop and inevitably found a pretty big issue - turns out that service light was a symptom of my break light circuit being broken, so my break lights actually weren't working! They quoted me for the work and went ahead with the repair. 3 hours later I picked up my car with all issues fixed and the bill was exactly what I expected.

I'm very grateful for their professionalism, timelines, and consideration when it came to keeping the agreed upon quote. They even took me on a test drive 2 weeks before my appointment to ensure that my car was drive-able before my actual appointment day came! I love that they cared enough to make sure I was safe before I was physically able to bring the car in.

In the end, their receipt was itemized and understandable and exactly what we had agreed upon. I didn't once feel unsafe or that I was being taken advantage of, even though I came to the shop as a lone female.

I'll highly recommend this team to my family and friends and can't wait until I get to hire this crew again for future maintenance.

Expensive: I took my 4 Runner in to PDX for its usual 30,000 mile maintenance since my previous mechanic retired. They replaced the air filter, changed my oil (with oil I supplied), flushed and replaced the antifreeze, did an inspection and gave me estimates. The bill came to $329.65. This is the fist time in my life that I was billed for an inspection and estimate, so I was unpleasantly surprised.
Also, I found their estimates to be expensive. For example. PDX wanted $1,004.30 to replace the front brakes & calipers (yes, just the FRONT brakes) Les Schwab did this job (yes including replacing the calipers) for $589.97. In my world, that's a lot of money.

I was given the runaround by different repair shop for my failed DEQ code, where they charged me $1000+ to "fix" it and still ended up driving off their lot with the check light still on. Needless to say, I was fatigued and wary.but then I found this place! The drop off was super simple, fast, and the folks at the desk were quick and professional. AND they didn't try to have me pay more/ get non-pressing work done! After all was said and done, my car just needed a new hose, but it was well worth the diagnostics test and (very minimal) hose costs to finally get the issue resolved. I can't recommend PDX Automotive enough as a young, older-car owner with little car knowledge. They certainly felt honest and like they wouldn't "fool" you. I'll definitely be coming back for other car needs in the future!
