Great, great Portland gem to visit whether you're from here or out of town. Outside area only right now but staff was great, food was even better, and wait wasn't long
Loved. Can't wait to come back

Long wait, short staffed and hostess had to take orders before you could sit. Food came as expected but.not impressed. Had a chicken sandwich later in the day that was much better! Pictured- Reggie, rhubarb pop tart, Ale Mary.

Great biscuits and gravy, but since it is such a hassle just to get food I'd recommend going elsewhere, tried a second time. This time with an online order, and the website is utterly pathetic and definitely not user friendly. Once again go elsewhere.

These biscuits were SO soft and flavorful! Every ingredient in our sandwiches came together so deliciously and the sauces were amazing. These are hands down, the BEST biscuits we’ve ever had! J got The Chatfield with hot sauce and I had The Reggie. For drinks we ordered a sweet tea and the Arnold Palmer. Every time I look back at these photos I drool a little SO GOOD!

Don't order at the window. They'll yell at you. Don't try to order by following the posted directions on the outdoor tables. They'll yell at you. Don't order to go and then try and sit at the outdoor tables, even if no one is using them. They'll yell at you. If they say your order will be ready in an hour, this really means two hours. But don't ask when it will actually be ready. They'll yell at you.

Waited one hour from the time we ordered ahead until we got our order. They didn't call out the order to let us know it was ready even though we'd checked in as soon as we got there. On top of it all, got half the order wrong and almost didn't give us our drinks.

Absolutely great, great gem to come to whether you're from here or not
Service was great, excellent food, and currently a large outside area. Inside is closed right now

Loved. Can't wait to come back

Reggie Deluxe all the way! I wish that I had more time in Portland so I could come back to Pine State again and again.

Sometimes I wake up in Washington and drive 3 hours for biscuits. Some may say this is a problem, I call it a solution.

Oh man I'm so full. The biscuits were heavenly. Line was crazy long, but worth it. I had the biscuit blt and my friend had the mcivery (honey and mustard). And honestly the beignets were really to die for! Parking on the street is easy and there are also plenty of cute botiques nearby to stop in while waiting

Great biscuits if you get them early, otherwise can be a little on the dry side. Speaking of early if you dont get there soon after opening you'll wait in line, and with a small lobby that often means waiting outside. My friend loves their chicken pot pie, I think the ham, egg and cheese biscuit is great.if we get there early enough.

It was cold because they had all the doors opened at 7am. It would of been nice if it had been a little warmer.
I had the bisquits and gravy. I thought the gravy was to rich.
My family loved the gravy.
I think the coffee if pricey as well add the orange juice.

Sorry for the poor pic quality (and near completely consumed food), but please, read on!

OMG! Not exactly sure what they put in the gravy, but all others will be inferior to me now. There is a sweet but foreign taste almost like curry, and the sausage is very fine but flavorful. The egg on top will be a new gold standard for me.
This cool place seemed friendly to families and pets alike with outside heated patio seating. Nice atmosphere and Good food! We're lucky we found this on a road trip from AZ. Experience it for yourself!

I don't get the hype here and never have. The food is really just not that great. If you're looking for a good biscuits and gravy experience, head to Gravy instead. Pine State is like going to the New Seasons breakfast bar but with a ridiculously long wait.

Delicious biscuit sandwiches. Got there about 9am on Tuesday and only had a couple people in front of us. Line quickly grew out the door behind us. Service was super fast, especially for the number of people in and out after we sat down but the staff never seemed too rushed. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Oh man, Pine State is a wonderful place. I wish I could live here. We were in town for a week and went two mornings in a row for a quick breakfast before work. The service was really fast (~9am on a weekday) and friendly. They really seemed happy to help, and even happy to bring our food out to us. The coffee is wonderful too, including free refills of local favorite roasters.

So the biscuits. They're good with chicken, they're good with sausage. They're good with jam, they're good plain. They're always good. We were wondering how it was possible for the biscuits themselves to be so good, but it turns out they founders are originally from North Carolina! It all makes sense.

Absolutely recommended if you are near either location. Actually, even if you aren't, come by.

I am a big fan of biscuits and this place did a phenomenal job in it! Definitely try out the "Reggie" and be prepared to queue if you are visiting at peak hours and weekends.

Unfortunately, we weren't very impressed with the Regina and Moneyball with mushroom gravy. We felt the biscuits were a bit dry. The service was fast and the outdoor patio is nice.

Pine state biscuits is an absolute must when visiting Portland. Come here for breakfast or lunch (but not dinner because they are closed) and you will not be disappointed. Every single thing in the menu is not what you would expect and exceeds all expectations in taste, quality, freshness, and size. The food is not expensive and there is more than one location to get your grub on. If you plan on coming in the weekends, be prepared to wait in a long line, but be patient because the wait is worth it!
