Plaza Salon and Spa, Ashland OR

I received the worst haircut of my life from Tara at the Plaza Salon. The horrible experience began when I arrived and was told that the hairdresser I booked with was unavailable, yet nobody called to tell me. I should have seen this as a red flag and left, but I had driven over an hour for this appointment and then Tara said that she could fit me in.
I explained in detail what I wanted and then showed her numerous pictures. I figured that a picture is worth more than words so I showed her over a dozen pictures that detailed the style I wanted. She appeared to be listening to me and looking at the pictures. Then she proceeded to rush through my haircut which resulted in a catastrophic cut that looked nothing like the photos. In fact it looked so completely different than the photos that I can’t believe she even saw them. Turns out she admittedly didn’t look closely. I was in shock. And to make things worse, my hair was now so short that nothing could be done to fix it. She actually shaved the back of my head! I explained in detail what I wanted and any other hairdresser would have known just what to do. She admitted that she made a mistake and didn’t charge me. But now I have the worst haircut of my life and I’m devastated. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she was also extremely cold and unfriendly; she refused to engage in conversation with me and treated me like a head of hair instead of a conscious human sitting in her chair.
I feel like someone has played a practical joke on me. The experience feels surreal. Tera also tried to justify the haircut by saying that maybe my hair was holding pain and needed to be cut off. Um, no! This was by far the worst haircut and salon experience of my life and I’m distraught. This is the first negative review I have ever left, but I truly don’t want others to experience this. Please, if you are reading this review, don’t let Tara go anywhere near your hair. And to the salon: If one of your hairdressers can’t make an appointment, please call people to tell them in advance. Terrible customer service.

Best salon in town, for sure! Kevin and his staff are all so nice, and Madeline, oh my goodness Madeline. That girl is a miracle worker:) Trust me, just show her a pic and she'll get you there.sweetest girl ever <3 <3 <3

Crystal is great! I have long hair and was getting a few inches off and layers. Crystal knew exactly how to cut my hair and do the layers in a way that looked so natural and not-choppy. Her cut gave my hair really nice natural body and flow. She was also very kind and nice to chat with. Thanks Crystal!

I hired plaza salon to do my hair and my bridal party’s hair for my wedding back in July. While I would still always give the hair stylists themselves 5/5 stars (because they’re great!), I’d give the front desk people or whoever handles their scheduling and business-end of things 1/5 stars. They were terribly unorganized and unprofessional throughout the entire process. I booked them in January (when I had them do my engagement photoshoot hair) for my July wedding. I thought everything was good and done. Then I called them to talk details in June and they’d assumed I changed my mind and went a different direction since I hadn’t called sooner, so they canceled my reservation. They made NO ATTEMPT to contact me to confirm any of that before canceling my reservation. I had to find makeup people last minute and they were able to make it work to still do the hair. When I was there to do the trial run and pay, the woman at the front desk was extremely rude. She’d angrily ask me questions about prices and the number of their staff involved (things she should know the answers to, not me), and was just extremely rude overall. It was bizarre.

Fast forward to my wedding day and they arrived OVER AN HOUR LATE to start mine and my bridal party’s hair. It was very stressful. Everyone’s hair got done and it was fine. Like I said, they’re good with hair, just terrible with the business side of things.

My haircut came out good, it took the stylist literally 5 minutes and was the same price as a 45 minute cut, but I ain’t complaining as the steeze is still there!

I had a regular mani/pedi with Madeleine today. She was extremely attentive to detail and very thorough with each step. My nails look really healthy and the polish looks great!

I wanted to add to my review one week later. There's barely any wear on my nails after a lot of activities. Usually my nails last 2-3 days before they start chipping. After a week, my nails have some wear at the edges, but NOT coming off in chips or chunks. I'm highly impressed!

Susana cut my hair and it was exactly what I wanted. I showed her a picture of the sort of cut I was hoping for and she delivered no problem. She was quick, and did such a great job. Definitely recommend her to anyone wanting a professional and expert cut.
The rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. The salon was clean and comfortable. Top marks!

I hate to leave a negative review but I really don't want others to go here for a lash tint + curl. The experience was a bit traumatic for me. I've had this service done a handful of times at other reputable salons so I am familiar with how this should be done. The technician here was very sloppy with her work, the perm solution was applied haphazardly and my eyelids were not properly shielded from the chemicals. I could feel them burning throughout the process and notified her of such. Tape was applied to my eyelids at some point? Ouch. Then the tinting solution was equally lazily applied and leaked into my eyeballs, which of course had to be flushed immediately as to not harm my vision. All of this and I was out after 40 minutes and was too shocked to refuse payment. I wish I didn't pay for this service, my eyelashes were tweaked in different directions, tinting unequal across the lashes. If you are looking for this service please go elsewhere.

Love this salon. Great stylists, awesome atmosphere, great products. Owner is super nice. Love the location and it has good prices. Definitely recommend if you're looking for your new place.

Plaza Salon and Spa is my new place in Ashland OR to get a Men's haircut. I've been to traditional barber shops but I prefer salons because they put a little extra thought into the cut. My go to stylist is Crystal Mays. You can usually call and book an appointment same day or for later in the week. They also have pedicures, women's cuts, probably coloring.you know, all the things you'd expect from a full service salon. Check em out in the plaza!

My stylist knows the perfect sassy cut for my age. This salon also has great selection of hair products. Twice a year I get a pedicure and purchase some GRANDE LASH MD to keep my eyelashes long and beautiful.

I came all the way to Ashland for a photoshoot and had scheduled a blow dry and style weeks ago. The Plaza called to cancel on me less than 2 hours before and offered to do absolutely nothing to fit me in. They have single-handedly cost me hundreds of dollars and an entire weekend because of their inept business. Stay away from this salon at all costs.
