Poke box sushi bar reviews
17Loved the variety here. Outstanding flavors and presentation. My favorites were the Seared Salmon, Godzilla, and 911 rolls
We had a pleasant time eating at Poke Box, but only because we enjoy each others company. The food wasn't bad, it was actually quite good, but the loud music, sticky tables, and noisy football game on the TV overshadowed the food.
The bones of the review are this. The food was decent, though it felt overpriced. The ambiance left a lot to be desired. There is a mediocre variety within the menu, but almost every roll is spicy. Despite being the only patrons in the restaurant, our two rolls took about 20 minutes to arrive.
If you want to try some spendy and unique rolls with an eclectic musical backdrop, check out Poke Box for their cucumber-wrapped menu items. Those are pretty interesting. Also, sit outside if possible for a quieter experience.
Food was decent. Presentation was nice but taste okay. Overall best item on menu was the edamame.
Friendly and great recommendations for our kiddo! Enjoyed every minute, thank you for being a neighborhood go to.
Sushi is so not worth the price. Mediocre at best. Music was so loud, asked them to turn it down and they pretended to but didnt really change it at all. Do not recommend. So many other better sushi spots in town.
Such a fantastic surprise. Maybe the freshest tasting poke bowl I've ever had! I wish I had remembered to take a picture!
Prices high for decent quality ($5 for a tiny cucumber salad and $18 for a salmon poke bowl). I don't appreciate being called "beautiful" or "sweetie" by a strange man (my server). Also, does every dish have to be garnished with an orchid flower? Would I get a discount for withholding an expensive and unnecessary garnish that's only going to be thrown away in 20 minutes?
I was dumb & hungry, I ordered without specifying gluten free. I asked as I picked up & one roll was imitation crab which has wheat in it. They were very knowledgeable and actually went above and beyond & remade my roll. Now I know to specify ahead but also how amazing they are. Very excited to give them more business in the future.
Overpriced; slow service (our drinks came after our food, 30 minutes after we ordered them) ; no liquor license; we were given dirty plates; microwave beeps ring out constantly; the sushi itself was sub-par; off-putting smell in the restaurant; first time we tried to come the placed was closed but the open sign was up and hours online said it should be open. Disappointing.
The food was amazing! The service was beyond any I have had before. Our waitress was perfection and she had a flight of stairs and 6 kids to work through! Please do yourself a favor and go eat here! Very cute in a beautiful neighborhood.
Drove here because it said online that it’s open, but it was closed, with a big open sign on the door. Infuriating.
Always searching for good sushi around the Portland area. Nice spot with a number of sushi options. Great outdoor seating for grabbing a bite on a nice day.
Overall, the staff were very nice & food tasted really good. Getting our food took a bit & the wrapping on the sushi wasn’t great; rolls fell apart and sheets of sea weed weren’t cut through entirely. Friend told me these was uncommon. Despite these hiccups, the Poke bowl & our rolls were very tasty. Will be going back for sure.
So so good! The service is very efficient and there’s actually a lot more seating than you would expect. Maybe because they don’t need a huge kitchen, but they definitely utilize the space well. Food was excellent and staff was lovely. We will be back!
Fantastic sushi place! Great menu, lots of options. The food and sake were perfect. Even the pickled ginger was noteworthy! All the flavors are bright and yummy. Will for sure be back again!
Walked in, read the menu and walked out. If you're looking to eat good sushi, you're looking at dropping good coin. This place has some creative offerings, and I'm no schleppo, but the sticker shock. If you've got money to burn, and I mean straight up light on fire, this could be the place to do it. There are plenty of quality options in the neighborhood that won't leave you walking funny.
Great Poke and Sushi
Fresh ingredients and insanely great presentation.
VERY worth a visit!
I arrived just as they were closing, but they still prepared my favorite Mango Tango, baked salmon, mango, avocado and lots of yummy ingredients! Super attentive and friendly staff, nicely arranged seating areas, clean and fresh throughout. Thank you, Jose and Julio, new owners.
