Portland Apparel Lab is a women owned business run by great people who care. Can’t ask for much more.

Super knowledgeable and go out of their way to help people just starting out. Dawn is really experienced in the apparel business and generously shares her knowledge with those who need it. It’s no longer a membership studio but, when it was I made all sorts of awesome stuff and felt really connected to the maker community.

I was determined to make my own design for a clothing show in Portland and I was having errors with my pattern making. I went to Dawn for advice and could not be happier with the results and the expertise she offered me! She is extremely talented and worth every penny! I will definitely go back to PAL with any pattern drafting questions I have in the future!

Dawn’s knowledge and the community created in PAL are world class. This platform is great for pros and those wishing to learn at a pro level.

They have a moderate amount of bandwidth and are very focused. Do your homework prior and you will be rewarded. It is a small, woman owned business not supported with public funds.

I was all jazzed after finding out about this place, but when I called they said they were no longer offering open studio access. Disappointing.

More people should know about this place-it's a great resource! Dawn is a gem, their services are top-notch.

A fabulous place to learn and grow. PAL gave me practical sewing knowledge and provided a great space to teach others as well. Collaborations abound here!
