Portland Fish Market Fish And Chips Window reviews
18Delicious! We have tried it twice and both times were very good. I don’t particularly care for GF, but couldn’t even tell that it was. A sign of great breading fish was juicy, fries fresh and crispy. Got some fresh oysters from the store while I was waiting, they too were fresh and delicious.
They have the best COD and fries I have ever had. Kinda pricey but great for a treat to COD
Most excellent gluten free batter Ed Halibut fish & crisp to perfection fries! Oh yeah!
Excellent fish, but over the weekend I decided to come back and try it again they burnt my fish then I had to bring it back they offered me refund which I got I decided to order another Rockfish with fries no salt they gave me that cod fish instead of the Rockfish the fries were so salty you couldn't even eat I don't know what they did with the coleslaw is horrible it tastes like poison this business has went down with their food and then when I came back again for my refund the cook wanted to argue i think if they get a new fry cook it may get better I'm a retired Chef I know the difference between Cod and rockfish tries to short my refund I will never go back
Always a highlight any time I visit Eoodstock. Super easy to order on your phone. Delicious range of gluten-free fried fish choices that you pick up from a window. As a person who rarely gets to enjoy fish and chips due to allergies, this is amazing. The batter is delicious, as are the perfect chips - crispy on the outside, moist and creamy on the inside. Fabulous tartar sauce and coleslaw. Enjoy at a sidewalk picnic table or take to go.
Fries were so over salted. Fish (cod) was fresh but so much batter. I was kinda disappointed as I had heard this was a good spot. I don’t think I have ever bothered to write a negative review before so maybe that is telling.
Hurray! Finally gluten free fish and chips again. Pandemic hit and this is first eat out on picnic table at a eatery. Can not say enough in praise about the taste of this fish. Breading was so tasty. Tasted like it was fresh oil in their fryer. Drooling as I recall my visit.
Cost was a little pricey but we share our fare and that made it affordable. I'd still do it if just me. Extra for later. Large pieces. Most excellent fries. Tastes like they make them in house. Sturdy perfect sized, fried to perfection. Did I say I'm thrilled?
We bought clam chowder inside in the Market's frozen section. In a day or so it was defrosted in refrigerator. Heated in pan. Made garlic bread. I loved it. Hubs says too fishy. Noticed he cleaned his bowl.
Update Fall 2022. Still happening. Awesome food. Nice folks. Look forward to our visit, usually only once a month because it's across town. We do other shopping close by and make a day of it. Sunny day is best. We found break in the rain. Busy this time with people sitting at the picnic tables outside under trees.
Thanks to the people who made this happen.
Spent $25 on 3 cod and chips for myself. Order came with only tartar sauce. Asked for red sauce and they said 75 cents extra! Never again will I darken there doors!
A take out window on a seafood market. There is limited seating inside and out. Shhhh, it is gluten free! And amazing! I love the halibut fish and chips, oh so good. Do NOT listen to the saying, if you can not see the ocean do not order the seafood. This place works hard to keep it fresh!
Halibut and chips lunch deal is an amazing value! Delicious fish that tastes fresh. Fries are seasoned and cooked well. Seasonal tap beer selection is good.
Honestly the best fish and chips in Portland. Since I found out about this place. I eat here 3-4 times a week. Lol I’m hooked. I usually get the halibut fish n chips. So good.
Truly celiac safe batter and oil. Glad they're here! And here's to Hawthorne fish and chips, who was also Celiac safe, but sadly didn't survive the pandemic.
Favorite fish n chips of everywhere, most fresh, best texture. Widest fish selection of everywhere, helpful staff, friendly when you tip appropriately. Remember service folx don’t owe us anything. Pick up some kale salad down the street at the grocery store for a balanced meal
PS quality fish n chips is spendy. Associating the appropriate price of food with the quality of review is a reflection of the buyer’s misunderstanding of value.
PPS Sometimes they forget the extras so check your bag before you leave
The rockfish and chips was incredible. House tartar sauce is bomb. Great spot it if you're looking for a quality fish and chips experience
Ordered online, nice sized pieces of salmon. Amazing taste. I will be back. Oh and I forgot to order a drink and was given a free bottled water because I did not bring cash.
Best Fish and Chips in town. The wait can be a little long sometimes but it's worth it.
I give the food 5 stars but the only reason why im giving them an over all 2 stars is cause the lady we ordered from at the window was just straight rhude as hell.
Excellent fish and chips! The coating is good, but doesn't detract from the flavor of the fish and the fries are perfectly salted to make them oh-so addictive!
