Portland Kayak Company reviews
21It was my first time trying out a kayak. The instructors were exceptional. They effortlessly kept our group together. They were quick to help those who were struggling. They were just as quick to introduce new skills to those who were doing just fine. I am definitely hooked. I can’t wait to go out again.
We had a wonderful time down on the Willamette and the team at PKC made it all super easy. Will definitely rent from them again!
Great customer service. I was given last minute notice that Alder Creek was canceling their storage and they accommodated very nicely
What awesome and wonderful people. Was traveling though the area and the weather wasn’t looking great. I called and a nice woman, Annie I believe kept giving me updates. I was able to eventually get out for about 90 minutes. Everything was perfect. Great people and rental. Everything was first class. Loved the area and the river. Got some sweet merchandise as well. Real nice folk out in Portland. I hope to make it back one day.
A great selection of kayaks to rent and demo, and of course you're going to want to buy one (I DO!). If not, they have a great selection of other kayak-related stuff, which is different than all the rental kiosks which have nothing other than a couple recreational kayaks. So rent a kayak and see downtown Portland from the water.
My friend and I rented stand up paddle boards here for an event on the Willamette. The staff was beyond GREAT. Super nice, provided us with all the equipment we needed and the price was great! I plan on going back soon and renting a kayak. It's in a great location and they give you a little dolly with straps to push your equipment down to the water if you do not have a truck. The experience was all around terrific!
Just picked up my Yakima Kayak Trailer from Portland Kayak. I support my FAV Local Kayak supplier. They helped my wife setup the perfect first date. My wife took me kayaking around Ross Island on our first date. My first trip in a kayak. Loved it. Stop in and say hi to John, Annie or Mike, sign up for a class. It’s awesome fun!
Very knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Kayak rental was in great condition and the renting process was very easy and convenient. I got lost while kayaking and ended up returning late but they were very understanding. Would definitely recommend!
Portland kayak company is the place t ok go for kayak and SUP rentals in Portland. It's been a few years since I've been here, but my wife and I wanted to get out on the water today and decided we needed to come see the folks at PKC. They were very professional, informative, and worked with us on extending our time witg no issues. We will definitely be back.
Awesome Ross Island kayak tour. Great guides. Very helpful in kayak sizing, instruction and dock launch assist.
This posted review was an accident. I don’t know how to remove it, so I will edit it after I check out the place
Portland Kayak gave us great service! We took a group of adults with different abilities and everyone had a positive experience. The staff were helpful and knowledgeable, providing clear preparation instructions. Super cute shop-dog & clean restrooms. Easy walk down to the river and nice equipment. Thanks Portland Kayak!
The sunset guided tour to Ross Island is excellent. It was my first time kayaking today, so I was nervous at first, but the tour guide (Heather) was great about instruction. We saw a bald eagle, swallows, geese, and ducks. We also had great views of the bridges. I highly recommend going on this tour.
These folks are so helpful and kind! We had a big group but PKC made sure that everyone felt comfortable with their kayak and checking in and out easy as pie. Thanks Annie!
Rented paddle boards. Easy to do. Very reasonable prices. New or Well maintained equipment. Just a short roll to a put in point at willamette park. Friendly. Have a space to leave clothes behind.
Portland Kayak Company helped me organize a day tour for my cancer survivors group. They were outstanding - super helpful, responsive, and accommodating! We had a gorgeous, sunny morning, and they made kayaking fun and accessible for everyone, experienced or not. Thank you so much!
Very friendly and helpful people. I appreciate how patient they were. It made my first experience pleasant, and I look forward to seeing them again. Had a fun time on the river too!
Friendly staff, great rentals, and easy access to the Willamette River. Pro tip: get some sunscreen off the counter if you forgot to bring any.
The people at Portland Kayak are super friendly & extremely knowledgeable. They offer a lot of great brands, some of which I'd never even heard of before (check out their selection of Lendal paddles, those things are amazing!) Whether you're looking to rent or buy, if sea kayaking of canoeing is your thing, this is the best place in Portland for you.
Great shop with extensive inventory, nice staff, and adjacent to large park with launch on the Willamette River
