Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront

The customer service was outstanding! I did dock the hotel a couple of stars for having low water pressure in the showers. It's very frustrating when you're in a hurry and it takes forever to shower because the water stream is so weak. They need to correct that and give people a full stream of water.

I originally booked 4 days of stay at this hotel for check-in on Aug 22. However, due to travel plan change, I cancelled the full reservation on Aug 20th as per cancellation policy. On my latest credit card statement, I surprisingly found that Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront charged one night of stay plus resort fees on my credit card on Aug 23rd, despite the fact there is a cancellation policy and there shouldn't be any charge to my booking. So I called Marriott headquarter, and they asked me to talk to the hotel directly. Then I called Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront guest service, who is able to transferred me to their ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT. Once transferred, I was greeted by a voicemail, so I left them a voicemail with full details about the charge and my cancel booking alone with my contact info. It has been days and no one got back to me from Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront. I am taking this matter to my credit card company now.

If you might cancel/change you trip, DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL as they are more likely to charge you regardless of the refund policy they showed you at the time of booking. You don't want to trouble yourself with this "aftermath".

I cant beleive this place is rated as a 4 star hotel. The cost was 4 star, but the hotel was horrible. Id rather of stayed at motel 6. It looked great on the website, but it was like something from the late 60's. And the carpet didnt look like it has been cleaned since then. This was supposed to be a romantic night with my girlfriend, but she was too worried about catching something from the dirty room. Very disappointing

Beautiful and cozy room. Service was great and gave some great suggestions for places to visit. Highly recommend.

Great service and the rooms were very nice, though pretty barebones, my room had a beautiful view from a balcony. I'd definitely stay again

It was okay but not great. Parking cost a lot, only Valet was available. AC very noisy in the room. We missed a swimming pool. Like most Marriott hotels have and for the price, there should be one, special for the Kids.
We liked the view at the river. Restaurant not very good but is not part of the hotel I guess. I have never seen so much homeless maand poor People in a city, not the fault of the hotel but our young children were shocked. We stayed one night, Would not recoment this for a week or so.

The front desk and valet person Elijah was very helpful. The hotel is set up nicely. I wouldn’t recommend for families. The downfalls were no pool, breakfast unless you were a Marriott member and no free parking. All parking garages around the area is at your risk and had bad reviews.

The rooms were nice, but the bathroom felt small and cramped. The staff was wonderful, and Molly at the front desk was a joy. The property was very secure for being in downtown Portland.

I would say the hotel definitely deserves a 5-star rating. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, and the service is great. Many perks are included in a stay, such as free tickets, food credits, and drinks. (not 100% sure if all types of rooms have the same benefits.)

NO Free WiFi, and NO Free Breakfast! Parking Fair Rate $54/ night. You have to pay $14.95/day for only Web browsing without video streaming, and $17.95/day with video streaming.

Not for families with kids. There is no microwave in the rooms, no parking without doing valley.

Nice hotel, pleasant and helpful staff, plus nice amenities like a workout facility. We were at a conference and my/colleagues one complaint is that the pillows are awful.

They were kind enough that, despite the clearly posted sign advising any passersby folks that their restroom was absolutely NOT available to the public, they did indeed allow me to wage biological warfare against any persons who may be passing through that area anytime in the near future.

We were here for a conference, so we didn't get to see the rooms. The location is walkable to many eateries and shops though.

They have a really good concierge lounge, and the bar is nice. Love the view of the bridge, try to get a room facing that direction.

Good for business travel, not good for family travel. There is no pool, no breakfast, valet parking, and a frosted glass sliding door on the bathrooms (with no fans). Would not stay there again due to having children.

Great location, helpful and friendly staff you really can't go wrong with this Marriott choice! Everything was up to date and very well maintained which made for a very comfortable stay. Cheers!
