After a frustrating experience at a big box sporting goods store, we stopped in to the Portland Running Company location in Beaverton. Drew greeted us, offered assistance and exhibited both active listening as well as expertise and knowledge as he pulled shoes from the back room and let me walk around (even outside!) In them. Although I had a specific brand in mind when I arrived, I left with one even better. And I'm not even a runner! Run, don't walk to PRC if you want true customer service by staff that really know their stuff!

If your runners don't work for you, you can return them! Even after being outside with them! Great customer service. Good selection.

So, the staff here was absolutely fantastic with their experience and it helped that they are runners with real world experience.

Excellent selection, informative and knowledgeable staff who really help you find the right shoe for your foot. Prices are great. Variety of accessories available too. I really have nothing but good things to say. I have no reason to go elsewhere for running shoes / gear going forward!

The first time I went the person working there was very helpful and offered suggestions to find the right shoes. Today wasn’t that experience. Staff were texting and on YouTube, and it honestly felt like I was bothering them when I asked for help. I don’t feel the need to go back.

Went in not knowing exactly what shoe I needed, Tim came up and I told him what I needed the shoes for and he helped pick out the perfect pair for what I needed, 10/10 service and 10/10 knowledge, highly recommend this store to anyone!

Amazing service with knowledgeable staff. I've struggled to buy the correct running shoes for about a year now. After talking with Drew and trying out several pairs of shoes, I finally feel like I have the right pair. Turns out I needed a wide pair, which I hadn't tried until now.

Huge shout out to John and Drew at this location! I came in simply wanting to try on a couple shoes and John immediately came up to me asking me various questions about my feet, work and activity level. He took the time to watch my form of walking/stepping and gave me different options whilst explaining things to look out for in a shoe. I walked out with a pair shoes perfect for my feet. A couple days later I came back as I found the experience was personable and wanted a couple more pairs of shoes to be able to switch out, Drew was very patient and let me try on various types of shoes while offering his knowledge and different tips. I appreciated the fact that they let me know I am able to get a refund if within 30 days I am unhappy with the shoes. Most places won’t accept returns if it’s “worn” at all which doesn’t always allow the customer to affirm their purchase. I will definitely be referring any family or friends in search of shoes and will be coming back for my future needs.

Kody at this store was above and beyond in customer service. Knowledgeable, empathic, respectful while friendly - all around awesome! He was so patient and helped me find the best running shoes for my needs. Very impressed by this company!

I bought shoes here about 6 months ago. They changed my life. It made running much more enjoyable.very knowledgeable people.better than other running shoes companies in the portland area

Update: I purchased two more pairs of shoes and it was disappointing. The younger guys are knowledgeable about running, but not very interested in their customers. Pretty poor overall
impression. Last time I tried to change the size of the shoes (not used), they didn’t agree to do that, because the price went higher during that time! So they wanted me to pay the difference. I had to simply return. Unbelievable! I don’t think I’ll go to that store again.

Great store with a convenient location and is highly specialized on All kinds of Running and Walking. Specialization means the staff knows the domain really went and can give you a legit advice. That was exactly my experience with John today who is a marathon and super marathon runner and gave me caring and professional advice. I left the store with a full confidence that I am well equipped for successfully finishing Portland Marathon later this year. Highly recommend!
