Pub Portway Tavern reviews
16Went in on Friday night for some food n drinks was told he was understaffed upon walking in that is understandable but to be rude and unwelcomed and total bad attitude is not good customer service wont be coming here anymore
Best fish and chips I’ve had recently on the coast. Everything was cooked perfectly, fries super crispy. The chowder was loaded with clams and etc, and flavorful. The bartender who served us was awesome, fun and helpful. The vibe was both cozy and upbeat. It was fairly busy for 11AM. I will definitely be revisiting.
We had fish and chips and clam chowder for carry out. The fish was super moist. The chowder is the best that we have had on the Oregon coast.
Food was great! Halibut fish and chips and some great clam chowder! Dog friendly on the patio. I'll be back for more.
Great friendly local spot. Best fish and chips you will find.
Also cheese curds the last visit!
We like the fish and chips, very laid back atmosphere. Bar maid was extremely easy to get along with. We go everytime we stay in Astoria.
Awesome place my husband showed me. He's from Astoria good place to get a beer gamble.
Fun local place for food and drinks!
The clam Chowder was better than many other places we've tried up and down the Oregon Coastline (:
Great environment, great food, great service. When I'm back around that area definitely will eat there again.
Was recommended by the trolley for the trap door and history. Wasn't disappointed. Good beers and fries too
Service - I think she was having a bad day (just to me) I didn’t appreciate it. Food - we got a mixture of dishes and our boy had udon which he never had before and he liked it. It was good to try. It didn’t feel like a Japanese restaurant but an American restaurant serving Asia foods.
Jessica and Charlie have made a Sunday regular of me with their personal touch and the irresistible Ribeye or Grilled Halibut made just the way I like it. Great Portland Roasters coffee too!
Absolutely the best cheese curds I’ve ever had. The wings are also excellent! Great place!
On a recent trip thru Seattle & Oregon we stopped in to this local bar for a quick ale. We wound up having many drinks and meals.
Staff was great. We came in at a busy time and they were hopping
Beers came fast and the food right after first beer. Cheese curds.awesome! Burger done right! Every bar & pub has a world famous burger but at Portway the don't brag.they deliver.
Do yourself a favor and come here and try it out. You won't be disappointed
My husband and I have found another hot spot in Astoria! The service we were provided was friendly with laughs with a sense of a chill vibe. Pictured is their cheese burger and yes they cook their burgers by request! We ordered our medium rare and the "pink " was not a disappointing color! Daniel, the bartender was not only attentive to us, but he makes all portway guests feel very welcome and it was even cool how he thanked EVERY customer on their way out the door, including us. You don't see this kind of service in every establishment and it's nice. My husband loved their coconut stout beer. Thank you for providing a welcoming and fun atmosphere with delicious food. We will be coming back!
Spent AN HOUR waiting on a to go order. AN HOUR with kids waiting in the truck. I realize it's a bar and they want you to sit and drink, but a to go order means I don't have any intentions of spending money at the bar. Just the kitchen. Don't get me started on their food prices or the fact that the cook sauntered from the kitchen when the food was finally ready.
