Curbside care seems to be lacking in care and communication. We took our kitten here twice recently and on the first visit I spoke the the vet on the phone which was great but then the technicians (or at least the paperwork) reflected the opposite of what was being done. On her second visit for shots there was no communication whatsoever and we were charged again for an FELV check which they’d done in the first visit. It seems there is a major gap in communication here which is very concerning when it affects the care of our fur babies. We then got a quote for a spay for our little one that was twice as much as anywhere else in town. We’ve been taking our kitties here for years and have had good experiences until now. I think it’s time to seek veterinary care elsewhere as their health is too important to us to take chances on.

4 amazing years of service! Dr. Ault saved our cats life after being misdiagnosed with cancer by another clinic. He identified a rare disease and was able to cure her. We have 6 cats ages 7-17 and have seen Dr. Flora and Schoenrock who are equally gifted with their own specialties. We've been going here regularly since 2016 and find it particularly accommodating to cats. They have removed cancerous masses and treated IBS as well as many other kitty ailments. When the bill has been high for surgeries, they have either worked out an in house payment plan or accept care credit. I've learned a lot from this clinic and plan to continue our family care here.

I have been bringing my dog here for over five years. He struggles with reoccurring ear infections and they wanted to charge me $200 to treat the latest one. I asked them for some assistance with the cost and they immediately told me to go somewhere else. The receptionist even said that she would send me a list of "low cost clinics" in the area, but she never did. They are a decent clinic but you are going to pay a lot of money. It's sad that years of rapport has to be lost in a single conversation where your customer asks for help.

First impression went well, but overtime we noticed the clinic was lacking communication, attention to detail and proper care for our loved one.

Our vet was amazing after the first visit, so we went on the puppy plan immediately. Getting on the puppy plan was a headache as the staff was not sure how to proceed with the curbside pickup during the Oregon state stay-at-home order. We were told different processes and prices until we finally reached an office manager to set us up.

Continuing our care we no longer met with the wonderful vet, but technicians and office managers that did not seem very caring for our situations as puppy owners during this time. We tried to understand that the climate spring 2020 is difficult to navigate as a business, but it seemed they were not engaged with our family and only caused difficulties along the way.

We were not provided a vaccination plan or a way to track our wellness progress, so left it up to the clinic. Things were consistently missed (nail trimmings, we had to request a vaccination that was not discussed or offered over 2 months of being with the clinic).

There seems to be so much oversight and we really had to fight for care. We would call with an issue and be rushed off the phone or told to just come in (but we only get so many “free” visits for the year!) We ended up “paying out” our puppy plan contract as they require the full year. We did state that we were frustrated with our pups health care, so I do not think the office manager will be surprised by this review when she responds. I am sorry, but we would not recommend this clinic.

Please note: We never met anyone in person as we adopted during the Covid19 pandemic. We would like to think things would be different if we were able to meet with the staff in person. I caution parents to consider this before going on a set plan, so you do not have to buy out of the one year contact. Our next clinic, we made sure to speak with as many employees and got to know their vibe/style of care.not just relying on one phone conversation.

Took my three year old cat there for a checkup and to address some concerns about her vomiting and lethargy. During the visit I was asked if they could trim her claws. I said it was fine. They neglected to mention I would be charged additionally for it.

$210 later I have no additional information about what might be wrong with my cat and 2 doses of anti nausea medication. That’s a lot of money for me, but my cat’s life is priceless to me.

When I got her home, I noticed that her claws had been cut so short there is blot clots on them, and her paws clearly hurt her.

This was the last chance for this place. They’ve been overpriced and unhelpful in the past (charging me $150 to do nothing but vaguely refer me to a “specialist” - not even telling me what kind of specialist) but this I cannot abide.

I would not recommend Powell Vet to anyone.

It was my first vet visit, and I learned my stray cat was pregnant here today—Linja, Doctor Flora, and all the front-desk folks were so incredible, gentle, knowledgeable and supportive! I was also forwarned of the costs before the visit was complete so that I wouldn’t be alarmed at the end. Thank you all so much!

My sister recommended these guys about 2 years ago and they are wonderful! Open everyday. Never too far out to get an appointment. And today I stopped for Nexguard and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Deedee was so great!

I definitely recommend this vet clinic. The staff are receptive to patient concerns, the service is warm, and the services offered are professional and trustworthy, unlike another veterinary clinic in town that I consider to be untrustworthy and unprofessional.

Dr. Flora is awesome. She is very knowledgeable, friendly and caring, and is great at educating you on all of your options. The clinic also has a great atmosphere - it feels more like a welcoming home than a sterile medical facility. Highly recommend to friends and family.

This is the second time I've brought my Great Pyrenees to Powell Veterinary and im really happy with my entire experience. I was originally reluctant to leave our old Vet at the Coast, but my dog Loves everyone esp.the Doc. They were lovely. They gave her a very thorough exam; were positive, well informed, and encouraging. They didn't shame me for not coming in for 1 1/2 yrs. Told me all of my options and we're reasonably priced.
I'll be coming back here. Hopefully for a long time.

I called to see about making an appointment and when the phone was answered they picked it up and put it back on the receiver. I called back and got a busy signal, as if they jist left the phone off the hook just so they didnt have to answer it. Very unprofessional.

I truly cannot say enough good about Powell Vet Center. We took our boy to them when we found out his leg was broken, and they were caring and honest about his options, and were willing to help us out when not many other vets seemed to want to. Dr. Ault is a superstar and truly made our experience with our amputation the best it could be. They have been so helpful in answering all of my questions and supporting us 100% of the way! We are so glad we have found our new vet clinic!

They do not return phone calls or emails. I should know, I’m still waiting to hear back from an email just to confirm my cat’s appt.you’re on hold for 20-30 min when you do get in touch with a human. I’m so frustrated with them

Caring vets and excellent customer service. We trust the care that our pet receives. Even though we've moved further, we continue to take our dog here. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience here! The nurses are friendly and helpful, and Dr. Danielle was very kind, knowledgable, and managed to give our pup her shots without her even noticing! Super impressed! Going to the vet wont be a negative experience for your dog/cat (or you) if you go here.

We take our puppy to the location in on Milwaukee and COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! From the day we picked up our corgi we have taken him there. They will call to follow up on how treatments are doing (rash, vision issues, etc), extremely friendly employees, clean office, and more! Thanks Powell vet!

Dr. Lathrop is a gem. We've taken our pets to him and his staff for the last 30 years and have nothing but praise for them. Dogs and cats, it doesn't matter. They love and care for them all.

Dr. Lathrop and all the Dr. 's and technicians at Powell Blvd have been wonderful to my dogs and cat. The clinic is inviting, clean, friendly and an overall fabulous resource. The care they provide, at even the hardest of visits, is exceptional. I have had appointments at both clinics and the high standards are consistent at both offices. I would highly recommend this veterinary clinic.

Best experience ever! Had a pup that wasn't feeling to well, all started on Saturday and by Sunday I knew she needed to be seen by a Vet. Only clinic that was open on Sunday. I'm very grateful that their office was open!

My pup is now feeling better thanks to their awesome staff, they treated my pet with so much kindness. Very knowledgeable and gave me great instructions as to aftercare. Will be visiting their office for other pet services.
