Providence Newberg Medical Center reviews
15Spoke with Richard in Medical Records (I believe they are not on site/Richard was a "supervisor"). He was rude and cruel. Further and as someone in the field, he was profoundly ignorant as to what his job actually is. If this is the type of individual that Providence is not only employing but promoting, I would never trust them with my medical needs and certainly not my medical information.
I was recently admitted to this hospital with kidney problems and disorientation. I had an open cut that was infected that needed to be sanitized. I was a bit out of it and wasn’t receiving help so I wiped it off with an alcohol wipe. Realizing this wasn’t the right thing to do when my nurse finally came in (this nurse also is familiar with me from another hospital), the nurse disgustingly, and maliciously and out of a cold heart asked me if I wanted alcohol wipes to clean the inside of my nose. I am trying to determine and will determine what nurse this was, hopefully with the help of the hospital. When this happened I was on a phone call and she was overheard by my family who were all stunned. This person employed by this hospital tried to cause me harm, for whatever reason, it is totally unsafe to put alcohol wipes up your nose. Maybe she thought I was disoriented enough to say yes. Providence Newberg should not want a nurse like this under their employ. I cannot speak to her intent.
Providence Newberg- is it a standard practice for nurses to hand patients alcohol wipes recommending they clean the insides of the nasal passageways? I was instructed to do this by one nurse only on one occasion. I advocated for myself several times that I did not feel safe under this persons care.
It is one thing for me to make a mistake as a non medical professional applying alcohol wipes to too large of an open wound, but I quickly realized this and was shocked when the nurse came in, saw that, and handed me alcohol wipes suggesting I clean the inside of my nose. This can cause permanent damage or loss of smell. Why would a nurse instruct me to do something dangerous? When questioned by a dr if I felt safe at this hospital I said no after this incident, and I left as soon as humanly possible, within hours, even though I still needed care but I cannot stay under the care of nurses recommending I do something that will damage my body.
Just had my yearly
mamogram on 10/18
The lady was so kind and sweet.she made this exam so easy.
The doctors and nurses at Providence Newberg have always been caring, prompt and well-informed.
My daughter was in the er.and when I went in to see her. No one would help even after I asked three times. The forth time after I got upset with them l got a few answers. I have never had Abad experience with them before but now I wonder how many people get treated this way.
TERRIBLE! Over 4 hours at emergency for a simple problem. They used to be great but have deteriorated significantly.
I received the kindest care while being treated here. I had to go in to the ER and everyone was so kind from the front desk, to the account specialist to the vitals nurse, the PA, Kelly, and nurse, Emma, that helped me during the duration of my visit. Thank you for your compassionate care that brought me better peace of mind and comfort during a tough time.
Enter on Saturday at 6: 30 AM, I want to share that it was an excellent service, Dr. Tomás Michael Johnson is a great professional, very kind, very kind in his answers, likewise the nurse and another person whose name I do not remember were very kind to me, I thank the hospital for their valuable help, thank you very much!
I only go to Providence Newberg, I am always waited on quickly, and my concerns are addressed by friendly professionals. I would recommend this hospital above others.
Plenty of parking available.
Staff at front desk are nice and friendly.
Easy layout to offices and procedures areas.
When arriving for a procedure, you do all the check in process at front desk.
Then go to the area for your procedure, pick up the phone and let them know you are there.
Then they take you back.
There is a cafe and gift shop on the ground floor.
Doctors, nurses, and staff were all really patient with questions and had positive attitudes.
Over the last few years I have had two labs misplaced and the orders removed from their system. I recently visited their E. R.with something attacking my lymphatic system. The doctor I saw only looked at the topical portion and didn't even attempt to determine the scope of the swelling. I was given antibiotics and turned out.
The antibiotics didn't help.
And, the icing on the cake, I can't access my medical chart.
Over all? Go with Keizer Permenente
My mom was hospitalized recently and I was really impressed with Providence Newberg. The health care team was great and we felt very well taken care of. But the real reason I'm taking the time to leave this review is the housekeeping staff. They were absolutely fantastic. They were kind, caring and efficient. It was really cool how they engaged with us without being intrusive. At first I thought it was a one-off but consistently we experienced the same thing with person after person. They introduced themselves, quickly did what they needed, showed kindness for my mom, asked if we needed anything and then quietly left. Their solicitude really seemed genuine and not at all forced. Whoever is doing the hiring for that team, keep up the good work. And to the team itself- very well done! You were a HUGE part of why what is normally a bad experience (having to be in the hospital) was bearable!
Their automated phone service is absolutely the WORST! I have attempted to set up new patient care for the past 4 days. I have tried leaving my number for a call back 3 times and have yet to be called back. I have tried just waiting on hold, and have wasted over 4 hours of my life this week. I finally got a hold of someone at an outside receptionist/directory service, they tried to put me in direct contact with their Internal Medicine department. I wasted another hour of my life on hold again and gave up. If this is indicative of how their actual patient care is going to be I would highly recommend Not using their services. After wasting so much of my time and effort I will be driving to Tualatin for my medical needs. This place is ridiculous.
About 90% of the staff is racist. They do not pay their permanent staff well enough so then travel staff is targeted, lied on, and fired. Especially black travel staff, if they still have any after getting rid of them before the holidays. No diversity, no equity, no inclusion. If you are a person of color that is working as a travel CNA here document everything, communicate through email, and do not follow any RNs orders. They will direct you to do things and simultaneously report you for respecting their title as a higher up.
Trying to get a fax to send info is extremely difficult and if u want to give a complaint they will not transfer you to the appropriate people
