Great restaurant, delicious food but pricey. Recommend the duck dish, it was a better portion and more filling.
The cocktail with tumeric was amazing!

It’s still very good, but the prices are Michelin star and the food just isn’t what it was a few years ago (and it was reasonably priced then). Everything will taste great, but you’ll leave regretting paying $4-600 for two people easily. Also the staff looks completely uninterested and generally kind of cold. It’s good service just not warm at all. Can’t talk myself into going back anymore.

Out of the 4 or 5 times I've gone over however many years it's been open, I've never had a bad meal here. It seems like the food keeps getting better and better.

5 star restaurant designed for more of a dining experience. Keep in mind it is quite costly, but the start to finish is amazing both times I have been there. A good spot for a special occasion

The food is worth trying. Spending just under 3 hours to receive 7 courses with loud house music was too exhausting though. They need to improve their speed.

I was treated to such a beautiful birthday dinner at Quaintrelle, this is the place to go if you celebrate with a delicious meal. We ordered the 5 course chef-selected tasting menu for two people and a number of cocktails for each of us. Every dish was so thoughtfully prepared, and each bite was flavorful and well balanced. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too focused on eating the good food and catching up with an old friend; maybe next time because I’m definitely going back!

We’ve only visited for happy hour having one round of cocktails and a few small plates. The space is nice but the “bar” only has three seats. There are two large outdoor heated seating areas. The cocktails and bread and oysters were all superb. I look forward to coming back for dinner, having as many courses as possible.

We had the 7 course meal and each dish was fantastic. We also tried a few of their cocktails and we were not disappointed. So good, it was hard to pick a favorite!
The service was also fantastic - our main server was super personable and gave excellent drink recommendations. Each of the folks who brought/explained the dishes had a smile and seemed genuinely proud of the food. And they should be.

I have tried other high rated tasting menus. Michelin star places. None of them have compared to the dinner that we had here. By far blew all expectations out of the water. One of my favorite things about great food is how it can change your perception on an entire ingredients. Several things I had were not what I would gravitate towards, however I was challenged here. Thank you for the wonderful dinner. I don’t k or when but I will certainly be back.

So, the food was actually fantastic. I really only have 2 gripes. 1. I ordered a truffle upgrade. I've been to many tasting menus before. I've gotten many truffle upgrades before. But for $45, this was not nearly worth it. The shavings were so small, I gave it to my girlfriend to try as she had never had truffles before, and she could not tell and the difference between her own plate and my plate that had truffles on it.
2. It was my girlfriends birthday. She had never been to a Michelin star worthy restaurant. I told her this place was worthy of a Michelin star. But then we saw the table behind us get a lit candle and dessert for her birthday. But my girlfriend didn't get a candle, a dessert, or anyone wishing her a happy birthday. What's the point of listing in the reservation we had a birthday if you aren't even going to acknowledge it. For my girlfriends first Michelin quality experience, and the $550 I spent for 2 people, it definitely did not live up to my expectation.

Food was amazing as was the wait staff. We did the seven course tasting and loved everything that was presented. The wine pairings were okay but nothing to rave about. 100% will visit again.

Fantastic meal and the service was beyond exceptional. We must have had every person in the restaurant deliver a dish and tell us something about it. This is one the top dining experiences in Portland.

My partner and I came in for a late Valentine’s Day celebration and had a great experience. We enjoyed high quality food, fun cocktails, an exciting atmosphere, and respectful service.

We got the 7 course tasting menu, and were very impressed with 5 of the courses. 2 were good, but we just weren’t wowed by them. I have a shellfish allergy and they accommodated it very well, cleverly substituting a scallop with a parsnip, which ended up being my favorite course. I also loved the focaccia and chanterelle mushroom dish, and will be dreaming about the house tapioca for weeks to come.

The hamachi was a tasty cut, but the pomegranate vinaigrette paired with granny apples was too tart for my taste. The chicken Kiev was a bit bland and didn’t excite us.

The servers were all very knowledgeable of the food and attentive to tables. I could tell they were passionate about the food they were serving, which adds a lot to the experience.

Will definitely be returning soon!

20 minutes ago my waiter, Owen (gentleman with an Irish accent), informed me that I was not welcome back at Quaintrelle because I left a 10% tip.

My bill was approx. $300, and I left a $30 tip. On my way out the door with my partner, Owen approached me and said, "I'm sorry, was my service not good? "

I said, "No, it was fine. " (I had actually ordered something that I never received - hence the 10% tip, along with some other issues - but I didn't tell him this as I was so caught off guard)

Owen said he was surprised, because I had only left $30. He attempted to hand me the bill so I could change my tip. He said, "20% is the industry standard. "

He was essentially shaking me down for more money. I said, "I'm sorry, I don't appreciate this conversation. And I would like to remove my tip. "

Owen said, "I don't accept your tip. Maybe you should find somewhere else to eat in the future. "

Needless to say I will not be back. My party and I spent over $600. One person left a $70 tip and I left a $30 tip, which would've brought Owen's takeaway for our table to $100. However, evidently this is not good enough for him, and we are no longer allowed back into Quaintrelle. I wish I could say I was exaggerating, but sadly this actually happened. I won't be back.

We had the 7 course tasting menu and it was beyond our expectation. Everything was crafted so well and the flavors were amazing.

My wife and I's first experience with Quaintrelle was wonderful so we thought we'd give it another try. Last night our experience was the complete opposite. We knew it was going to be bad the moment we sat down - they sat us in this dingy outdoor tent that smelled like cleaning supplies. It was one of those tents with the cheesy fake windows which lacked the cool ambiance of the main dining room. This already felt extremely subpar for an experience we were going to pay nearly $400 (tip included) for. Letting it go, we decided to order the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Our server asked about allergies and my wife had a few - gluten being one of them. When the server came back over to our area, we heard him telling another table that the chef would be able to accommodate my wife's allergies (for which they had no idea what he was talking about). The first course and the wine pairing arrived and was good (it was oysters). Then the server brought out the bread and put it in between the two of us as if he forgot my wife had an allergy. Course number two was then brought out along with more wine (it was the scallop). This might’ve been a personal preference, but I really did not like the scallop. Then they brought out the third course and started explaining. I immediately asked if there was gluten and they promptly took the dishes away. The food looked wonderful and I was excited to try - but they took it away. When I asked about it the server apologized and said we were getting an “upgrade” (but what I really wanted what was taken away from me). After that, they brought out a different wine to pair with a replacement course they were preparing. So now we had two wines on the table - one that paired with nothing and the other to pair with the mystery course we were about to receive. The course in question was the pork belly and it was pretty tasty (finally). It was then time for the main course. I got the beef cheek, which was slightly under seasoned and my wife got a prawn dish (for her allergies). While my dish was slightly under seasoned, it paired excellently with the wine. But for my wife? Not so much. When it finally came to dessert, they brought out the toffee cake for me and some ice creams for my wife. But again, they gave each of us the wrong plates before remembering at the last minute to switch. They also brought some black truffle (another “upgrade”) to grate over the desserts. My wife mentioned she hated truffle but the server insisted on grating it into her dessert anyways. In the end, she couldn’t taste it (neither could I) - so it wasn’t a big deal. But why insist when someone tells you no?

Lastly, there was a table next to us where multiple staff approached throughout the night (like they were VIP’s). But the staff would stand in between our two tables with their butts practically in our faces. I understand it was a small space, but they could’ve stood in a different spot. It felt extremely inconsiderate like they were oblivious to the other guests. When the couple was leaving, our server immediately stopped talking to us (mid sentence) and started thanking them for coming. This left us feeling ignored and unimportant.

Not all of the experience was bad. The server was very knowledgeable and made some efforts to fix some of the issues. But the experience as a whole felt like a complete disaster, especially at that price point. We’ll never go there again.

Everything was amazing. Our server John was amazing and even charged my phone. Thank you again, you saved our night! The food was out of this world, you van really feel the care and time put into the dishes. The focaccia app was mind blowing, I could have ate that all night and been happy. Definitely returning, don't hesitate to check it out.

Stopped in for a few snacks and drinks. They made one of the best martinis ever, and the focaccia was next level.
