Never shipped product, took months to get a refund from credit card company. DON'T BUY FROM THEM!

Kevin is a really nice guy, very expert knowledge, great facility. I can't imagine anything wrong with a bike that he couldn't handle. They are very customer-focused and helpful. I would highly recommend Risse to anyone that wants their bike serviced quickly, correctly, and at a very reasonable price.

Genesis Shock - A Solid Component

Initially I was concerned given the reviews overall - but when its the only machine shop making parts for this raven, choices are slim!

That said - I work in metal manufacturing and there are both labor and supply chain issues plaguing our industry. The communication was not great, BUT Kevin did pick up the phone every time I called to pester. I did not recieve any correspondence without reaching out (until it shipped) which would have been massively appreciated. This is the only reason I docked 1 star.

It did take from the beginning of February to Late May to get my genesis shock, but it is here - and appears a quality piece. Time will tell and I will update this review as needed through time - so far though its a massive kit upgrade on this ole Cannondale! Im happy. Has very good damping and with a slight air adjustment it is full send for this 99!

2023 Update: had an issue with the shock where it was locking up halfway through rebound on every ride. Risse gladly took it back and repaired it with great turnaround. Thanks guys!

Super pleased. We should be happy such place exists. I have a high end old bike that had discontinued Fox fork/shocks and nobody else fixes this West side of Rockies. Good value and timely resolve. Great people. Instead of having to buy a 5k plus new bike, with 400$ I can ride my old bike for a little longer.

Kevin went above and beyond with the service to my Lancair 360 Mk1 dampers. They were upgraded and serviced with no delay. I think I got lucky that they were open that weekend and were willing to do them while I waited. Fantastic service and support! So grateful that companies like this are around! Thanks alot guys!

Was having trouble with my front suspension, and even though this wasn’t my home shop, Risse Racing helped me out so much and gave me advice and was extremely honest. Helped me get my bike back up and running. Can’t recommend these guys enough

Ordered a bike hub in March. Called multiple times while waiting to get status update. Was always told "It will ship next week". I called and finally cancelled the order in October. They never refunded and kept my money. Kevin Risse, horrible!

I've been a pretty good customer of Risse Racing, buying items like rear shocks to having them rebuilt later on down the road.

I will admit that the communication end, it can be real rough at times and when times are good, they're great. In that respect, reviewers here, good and bad I can relate to and I believe both have really accurate points.

My most recent job I've had is from April 2022, having an Astro 5 go in for annual service. After week four, I reached out inquiring about the status. Mind you, I'm very understanding even if there is a staff shortage and backlog but the key is communication. This recent experience wasn't as pleasant but it is very clear to me the rebuilt shock has definitely been serviced and even the shaft replaced at no additional cost.

Overall, my recommendation to anyone buying or having service, email or call ahead. Find out what the lead time is and make your decision from there. The products and service quality has been mostly positive for me. The customer service has gradually improved from years past but of course, could always be better.

What a great company! I have a 27 year old Cannondale Super V with a broken rear shock. How many shops do you think there are that have a spare part or could repair it. Just Risse. Fits like a glove and I'm on the road again, just like it's 1995. Thanks!

I broke my fly dampening adjustment cap on my 1999 Cannondale Super V 2000. Which led to oil & air leaking out of front suspension fork. After speaking to my mobile bike mechanic and countless bike shop mechanics.not one person could/would repair it. However, it was recommended that I ship my fork across Country to Risse. First, I emailed photos and spoke to Kevin. He provided me with a RA# and an approximate beginning cost. Spoke of potentially 3D printing a new cap if needed. I shipped it which was received on Oct 11th. They repaired the cap, serviced my fork and returned to me by Oct 30th all at the base estimate provided. They're not great with communicating. I believe, it's because they're getting the work done, and therefore not able to hold your hand while doing said work.

As a bicycle Industry professional, I highly recommend AVOIDING this company.
I placed an order for a Fox 40 Crown and Steer, which showed it was in stock on October 24th. I didn't receive an email order number. I waited until November 3rd to give them a call. Kevin showed said it was out of stock but just got in stock and will go out the next day which is Friday November 4th. I didn't get any emails, so I called again at 3PM on Monday November 7th, he said it was being sent out today.
It's now it's Thursday November 10th, I called. They couldn't find my order, after a few minutes on wait, he said he found my order and that they weren't happy with the anodizing, and they they were coming back into tomorrow and they would ship out on Friday.

I understand a small business has bumps, and not every business is Amazon quick on shipping.
But I absolutely despise being lied to.
Just be honest with people and tell them they're out of stock, don't lie to me and tell me they're being shipped out 3 different times, only to find one they weren't even in the warehouse.

I finally called and asked for a refund, which they promptly refunded my money.

This seems to be this company's issue. Do not give them your money.

I just recently had a fox float R rebuilt by these guys. I wanted different specs that what the shock came and I told them what I wanted so they made it happen. This also my first experience in dealing with risse racing. They are highly recommended. I found them through somebody else when I needed a rebuild. They got the shock rebuilt very quickly and got it sent out just as quick. The sticker was much appreciated as well. I will refer people to them as I will be back myself
