If you are in the area and want a restaurant that is a cut above just about everything in McMinnville take a drive to Newberg and have the most splendid evening at Rosmarino Osteria Italiana. Dario is authentic in his love of Italian cuisine and as he says all he is trying to do is cook like his grandmother. We had the 5 course food and wine paired dinner and everything about it was 'out of this world". The service team look as if they are doing a dance. Food is perfectly cooked and the wines are delicious. Yes it is a bit spendy but worth every penny!

A simple spaghetti dish was incredibly delicious paired with a smooth red wine for lunch. Waitress was sweet and the owner/chef is so welcoming. We are definitely returning for a dinner date.

Not only is the food fabulous, but so is the experience. You feel like part of the family here, it truly is something special.

Nice atmosphere. A man, I assume is the owner, greeted us warmly at our table. Food was delicious and proportioned well.

Wow.just.wow! This was an absolutely amazing dining experience.
I made a reservation ahead of time for the five-course dinner and I highly recommend making one if you don’t want to risk missing out on a table.
As soon as you enter, you just know it’s going to be a great meal. I was greeted with a warm welcome and seated at a lovely, super clean table that was dressed with fresh linens and spotless glassware and flatware.
The dining room is tastefully appointed and has a warm feel to it and there is a large wine selection for special pairings with meals.
One thing that really stood out was the chef’s/owner’s presence in the front of the house. He comes to your table with each course and explains each dish, the ingredients, how it’s made and a little about his Italian heritage. He shares his passion and love for food with you and I swear it makes the food even more magical. You can taste it in every single bite. I had a smile on my face throughout dinner. Pure bliss.
The staff was very friendly and attentive and the team working in the back of the house expedited sheer culinary excellence. This place makes dinner really special. I highly recommend making a special trip here to experience it for yourself.

Amazingly good food and super friendly staff. The ravioli here is the best I've ever had. Bolognese was super delicious too. The chef came out and greeted us personally - very nice guy!

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last night with a 5 course meal paired with wines. It is hard to describe just how "alltogether" this restaurant is. Dario and Sheena and their staff do such an amazing job. To be honest I was a bit sceptical about wine pairing but oh my gosh how wonderfully right Dario's choices were. The soup was delicate, the antipasta salmon lox melted in the mouth. The fresh pasta with carbonara sauce was light and tasty. My darling wife wasn't certain about wild boar in prospect but the slowly cooked meat again melted in the mouth. The lemon infused cake was perfect as a dessert. The five courses were sufficient without being "stuffed" (although we did share one dessert and took the other home.) Here is what I feel about Rosmario Osteria Italiana.it should be a 7 star restaurant! Buon appetito!

Hey there Voice of Newberg here. My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting Rosmarino's for the first time, and let me say it was refreshing to say the least.
A little bit of background about us. I wield the power of power (electrician) and my wife is a nurse. Basically she saves lives. We are proud blue collar ballers. But that's neither here nor there. We have a toddler and an awesome grandma that had a slumber party together for our date night.
I have to admit; I was apprehensive about spending a lot of money to share a huge table with people whom I may or may not want to talk to. However, my wife in her infinite wisdom is always saying "let's try something new, good or bad". Dutifully, as a husband, I obliged and did not regret it.
When u first walk in you are greeted by the man himself, Dario. A sweet, loving northern Italian whom loves food, people, and good wine, and not necessarily in that order. One would want to compare him to Artie Bucco from Soprano's, but theater would not do him justice.
Almost immediately as u sit down u are greeting your neighbors. In actuality, I am not the most gregarious person, but somehow the atmosphere makes it natural, and dare I say familial, to talk to one another. Sitting across from us, the stars aligned us with people we really connected with. And, even though the people on either side of us may not be the typical people we would strike a conversation with, and perhaps may disagree with on many a issue, the aura of respect and hospitality guided us into meaningful conversation.
The five course dinner came out with an elocution of Dario's talents, as well as the same eloquence from a British wine maker named Ian, whom bears a striking resemblance to Bilbo Baggins. I may or may not have once caught him swirling, staring deeply into his glass like it was Dumbledore's pensieve whispering "my precious.my precious". (I mix metaphors but I am after all an electrician).
All of this is to say, if you're on the fence about Rosmarino's. GO FOR IT! I would only request, as much as a one-time patron and short-essayer can request, that u not come to impress. Come to be.

Great food and a show-Dario's explanation of the food and wine pairings was educational entertainment.

The food was very authentic Italian. Best gnocchi I've ever had. My only regret is that I didn't take any pictures to post with this review.

I'll do that next time as I know I'll be going back.

I have been frequently enjoying lunch and dinner at Rosmarino since it’s opening in early 2019. Dario and his team Care deeply about every customer and it shows in the quality of hospitality, food and wine. A true family-run restaurant with traditional values. Prices are sometimes unbelievably low given the ingredients (eg fresh Italian truffles, foraged local chanterelles and veal). Full disclosure, my wine company sometimes collaborates to create custom wines for the restaurant.

Lunch here reminded me exactly of dining in Italy! Every dish including desert and coffee was perfect! Service was spot on, not rushed, patient while we made our choices, there whenever we needed anything. I could have been delighted spending the entire day in here. I can't wait to go back!

Ausserordentlich gutes Essen (Gnocchi wie im Piemont), echter Espresso wie in Italien, nette Bedienung und italienische Gastfreundlichkeit des Inhaber

My husband and I came out here because of the rating, and it's well deserved. We haven't had an experience like we did here in many years! Not only is the food inexplicably good, but the entire experience here is what prefects the meal.
The owner, his wife, and their daughter were all so wonderful, inviting, and eager to get to know each of their customers! The knowledge of each dish and drink is exceptional, as well as the preparation and presentation of everything.
Any place that cuts out Americanized versions, and sticks to their true cultural traditions is worth the time. This little gem holds up to not only tradition, but will blow your mind with quality of food, drink, dessert, and hospitality!

My wife and I shared 2 of the salads, both were excellent! We also shared the two entries, the margarita pizza, which reminded me of Naples Italy, and the spicy gnocchi. Both were fantastic. The owner chef stopped by our table to check on our food. This man is passionate about what he creates. I would recommend this restuarant. Our only disappointment is we left Newberg the next morning, and will not be able to try more of the menu. Thanks for a great meal, Jeff & Karen.

What a wonderful way to spend an evening with friends. The food was spectacular. But the service and personal one on one explanations by Dario made this one of the most memorable meals I have ever eaten.

Authentic, delicious Italian food! Great atmosphere and service, most pleasant chef! We were there for lunch, and I’m looking forward to joining them for dinner some time soon. My kids loved everything they ate. Thank you for not having a kids menu and keeping your food flavors close to your heart.
