Grocery Store Safeway reviews
27This is my favorite safeway because the parking is underground and has a security guard. If your downtown its a no brainer
This particular Safeway has so so many people who steal, are rude, and security follows most people around because they really have to! It's just a really rough neighborhood.
They may be nice until you have to do last minute shopping. At 12: 00am The store clerk David literally ran up front to close down 3 registers so my friend couldn’t check out and then proceeded to take the basket and reshop everything while yelling we close at 12 not 12: 02. My friend recorded the whole ordeal and the icing on the cake was that David assaulted my friend on camera.
I like the safeway on sw jefferson. The one in the perl I don't go there often even though it closer to me but it seems like the rental security/lose prevention. They harrass people that they may look at them as if they didn't want the person in the store because they look homeless n the are from my opinion stereo typing
. They dress like swat. And have no customer service skills
I had to use the restroom and it was far from clean. The self checkout clerk had to let me in by entering a code. He looked in and just turned back around as if he didn't see the filth.
I dont shop there alot, but you guys have very good deil food and i love buying the cold starbucks coffee.thanks.
Was in the store for a maximum of 5 min to pick up a prescription, and in that 5 min I saw 3 people not wearing masks, now these were not customers, they were ALL staff, one of these unmasked people was in the PHARMACY of all places, the other was a man stocking shelves and the other was in the deli, I will not be returning to this or any Safeway
As expected Safeway is expensive, but after going to this particular one for the last 3 years and signing up for their rewards program I’ve found ways to actually make it worth going there. I kind of had to because it is within walking distance from where I live and work.
My advice, just sign up for their rewards program and add their coupons in the Safeway app every time you go so you can make your list and stick to the deals. The Just for U coupons almost always are worth it.
Safeway has turned me into a coupon crazed shopper and you’ll earn rewards faster that way too.
Also, the staff here are great, friendly and willing to help anyone.
Side note, the security there are very observant and on top of things nowadays.
This Safeway is located smack in the middle of downtown, and is the only store of its type in the vicinity. As such, it's something of a lifesaver! Also, however, because of the monopoly they enjoy, they can charge some slightly higher prices than you will find in similar stores across the river or on the other side of downtown. All told, however, it's often full of shoppers, especially students from the nearby university, PSU.
Safeway has a decent selection of decently priced goods that will Saturday you, plus check out stations that makes things go quicker.
I like this Safeway and the convenience with it being downtown and it has a parking garage. It just seems to be overrun by homeless, making it a little intimidating going through the entry doors.
Lots of selection; good, average prices while the club discount prices are much better; some very helpful staff - all for a late night visit. Drawbacks: the panhandlers outside the only entrance and security that made me feel insecure.
Outside and inside are like a homeless shelter. They occasionally have security outside but people still congrigate and tell at you going in and out.
Avoid at all costs. Worst pharmacy staff of any safeway I've ever been to in my life.
Completely inept and apathetic management in the entire store.
Well stocked and the produce is great looking. The only problem is getting into the store because there are a lot of people stalled out at the front door talking and lingering
This store is severely understaffed. Employees are fine but management is really lacking.it causes lines to back up huge
It was very clean and the lady at the deli was very helpful. They have good prices on the produce. And all in all, this is my new grocery store.
Trimet driver went in to use restroom and no body seemed to know the code. Finely i got the code and the restroom had no papper towels and it smelled bad and it looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in for ever. Unless i realy need it I will not be using you restroom again. Trimet will also get my opinion on it.
The stench and homeless have detoured my family from this place for good. Not recommended to anyone.
The store is great, huge section and fresh produce. Staff is helpful and friendly. The security guard deserves a raise. I walked here from my hotel as it was less than half a mile away but took an Uber back as the crowd on the corner (outside and inside by the door) were rough.
