Grocery Store Safeway reviews
8I shop at Safeway all the time and I love the savings. But yesterday during the busiest time of the day, I came across this and when I asked the employee moving carts to please move it, he walked around it and just ignored it. It didn't get removed until I went in and complained. Savings 10 Customer Service 0
The isles are too small for the volume of people shopping. Too much time wasted waiting to get around other shoppers. The cashier was very friendly. This store is a bit expensive compared to where I normally shop.
More spoiled produce, had a week to go on date and the bagged salad was no good. Saving money on refrigeration I guess.
Safeway is alright. The aisles feel confined. The prices are higher than comparable stores but their variety of produce and some other products, as well as their later hours, may help to justify their higher prices.
There are not enough checkers. The lines for the 2 checkers they had were really long. I was in line for a checker for at least 30 minutes, no exageration. All the self checkouts also were full with a long lines. When another checker opened she, volunteered, "Well checkers have to have breaks". I had not said a thing or gave her stink eye or anything. Shopping at Safeway has become, on an emergency basis only situation for my families. We go to Hillsboro twice a month, Walmart only when we have to and do not shop at IGA. We have lived in St Helen's 48 years and dont shop here anymore. Our stores are just not customer friendly or managed any more, so very sad.
People are very friendly and helpful. I can't believe how things have change since I work there and all new people who are working there.
I try not to go here unless I literally can't go anywhere else. Aside from the selection and shocking prices, all of the night staff are unbelievably rude. From making weird comments about your groceries to refusing to respond when you say hello, to treating you like an idiot if there's a problem with the self-checkout. I cannot believe how they let their staff talk to people. They also lie about what time it is so they can close the store early. Every time I go in I regret it. I wish we had other options because I cannot stand shopping at this store.
