Sahara Pizza, Astoria OR

Three huge issues:

1. The quality of the mozzarella cheese is horrible. It's tough and they don't put enough on the pizza.

2. The sauce is bad too. They seem to think the more ingredients in the sauce the better. Just the opposite is true. The best pizza sauce is nothing more than crushed or pureed tomatoes (uncooked or lightly cooked before spreading on the pie) and maybe a little olive oil and basil.

3. Consistency is almost unknown to this place. This is noticed mostly with the crust. Thickness of the crust and the size of the pie is rarely consistent. If you ask why you'll be told it's the nature of dough, not their fault. Long time professional pizza makers from the east coast would laugh at that excuse.

There's no pizza place in Astoria, except this dinner fairly good taste with price, kind and nice place to sip a beer, but do not try chicken wings

As a vegetarian, I'm pleasantly surprised with the options available. The Northwest Territory pizza is delicious.

Absolutely AMAZING pizza. Unique topping combinations that we ended up trying and loving. The crust was perfectly cooked and had the perfect thickness. Would recommend to anyone and hope to come back and try other flavors soon!

Nothing wrong with Sahara. Good quality of ingredients, freshness and flavor. Friendly people.

Fresh Wisconsin Cheese makes their stuff so good! Philly Cheese Steak with jalapeños. Yumm!

I'm honestly impressed because I do not expect good pizza on the west coast but this place was really solid! The crust is nice and not overly bready, good ratio of toppings, and enough cheese to satisfy any insta-fluencer's need for cheese pulls. It was a nice deviation from the ubiquitous fish and chips that dominate the restaurant scene in this town and I'd definitely recommend it!

Everytime i have ever called for delivery i have always had really bad customer service. But today sep 17th 2022 i had the pressure to speak with connor and he was lovely to talk to amazing customer service form him!

The Jungle Veggie pizza (with chicken added) was fantastic! The delivery to the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria was fast, straight to our room, arrived hot and the delivery man was so kind.

The restaurant was pretty empty, but it had good reviews so we gave it a shot. Very glad we did. The pizza was very good but the breadsticks were phenomenal! They have the *good* ranch- iykyk. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the chicken for pizza is either Dijon (and very strong) or BBQ and it would have been better to have not flavored chicken on the pizza. The Dijon was good, just a very strong mustard taste. We will be back to try more for sure!

Ordered: jalapeno popper-oni pizza, Cesar salad, bbq wings

Pizza was fantastic. Tasted like a jalapeno popper, with plenty of jalapenos and everything was melted together perfectly. The crust was soft and not too thick. Definitely recommend trying it. Salad was your typical packaged salad and dressing, but still decent. The wings were good, however I don't think they were baked or tossed with the sauce, it looked like they were baked and then put into the to-go container and the sauce was just poured over the top. We placed the order for pickup and it was ready within 20 minutes, so very quick and efficient. Overall, it was a good meal and we would do it again.

Smallish but clean dining area. Limited lot parking but adequate street side parking. Friendly staff. Decent pizza. Great crust.

Great food. There was a great variety of food for the family to choose from. We tried pizza, wings and meatballs. Everyone enjoyed their food.

We have driven by and decided to stop on a Friday evening. Not too busy and inside was spacious. Order was taken and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Presentation was great but overall food taste didn’t match presentation. Our curiosity was satisfied

Thank goodness they were open, alot of places were closed due to the earlier power outage. We got it to go. We had chicken bacon pizza. Lots of oil. I scraped off the toppings.

Really like their pizza and wings. Staff did a good job but not as friendly and happy as they were on prior visit. We came close to closing time and they may have been rushed.

It is an ok place. The parmesan garlic knots were drowning in garlic butter so much that they ended up soggy and the chicken bacon ranch pizza was fine not great but not bad either.

Pizza, wings, and Spaghetti were delicious. Enjoyed the atmosphere. If we are passing through this town we will definitely stop at Sahara Pizza! And you should too.

First time trying Sahara Pizza, my husband and I are huge pizza fans, Unfortunately we were not fans of the sauce the sauce on the pizza. Overall it was very blan.

If you want to dine in & wait 30 minutes for the wrong order, snotty service, and explosive diarrhea within 20 minutes after consuming 3 bites, then this is the place for you! Tastes like butts, and not the good kind.
