Delighted to have Salem on the Edge in downtown Salem. Always interesting exhibits, fun receptions, and Melanie is a creative and welcoming presence in the downtown. Grateful you're here!

This gallery is such a dynamic and creative force in the heart of downtown Salem. I love the art shows and the opening, social media posts and newsletters. Each time I drop in I find owner Melanie Watson a colorful and welcoming presence. She is always friendly, willing to engage in conversation, ask me questions and show genuine interest in what I have to say. (Introverts can expect to be left alone, too!). Salem on the Edge Gallery gives me a glimpse into Salem's artists and gives me a chance to feel involved the community's art scene. I highly recommend stopping in and making the gallery a regular part of your downtown routine.

I have nothing but great things to say about Salem on the Edge and the gallery’s owner, Melanie. Each month, Salem on the Edge features an array of talented artists and gives them the chance to proudly share their work with the public. Melanie has consistently been kind, courteous, and helpful every time that I have visited the gallery. If you’re ever in Salem, OR, I’d highly recommend stopping by!

This gallery is a gem. It is light and bright and welcomes you into a surprisingly large space.

I like the curation of the monthly exhibits which always present cohesively but at the same time, leave plenty of room for individual work viewing so you don’t feel crowded or overwhelmed. The gallery and guest artists provide a wide range of contemporary art - predominantly created by Pacific Northwest artists.

Whether a visitor is brand new to a gallery or a seasoned collector the gallery staff is welcoming and happy to let you browse or discuss work on view. They know the art and their artists. If you don’t see something that appeals, they may have something in the back - or can help you reach out to individual artists. As an artist myself, I sought out this gallery because it provided the sort of gallery experience I like as a buyer; welcoming, accessible, and always showing something new and fascinating. Well worth visiting frequently!
