I absolutely loved my experience ar Schooner Landing. Me and three other of my friends drove to Newport for a fun trip and found that this location had affordable pricing for the time we came (around mid january 2022). The office wasn’t marked super obviously but that’s an easy fix, the employee was kind and informative and our parking spot was easy to find (make sure to get first floor if you struggle with stairs though). We were shocked upon entering the room! It was so much more than we could have asked for- gas fireplace, dining table, lovely view, nice tv, jacuzzi tub, a cute bar section, a kitchenette, wonderful view of the beach (although it was cold so we didn’t go down to it) and two bedrooms with their own bathrooms. We didn’t even mind how it was a bit dated because it added to the the charm! Great location in Newport and closeby to some great spots. Be wary that the pool is closed. Overall, I am sad to hear recently they have been struggling but nonetheless love the charm of this place and hope to return again.

No one in office after 0630. Room had strong chemical smell not good when you have asthma. No vent for heater in upstairs room. The air up bed was broke wouldn't air up. The floors look all scuffed up and old.couch looked old. Needs updating. For what we pay for it.

Large condos which are in need of restoration and some updating, the weather is showing on the building's, appears they are under construction, no pool, no laundry all being worked on, otherwise good location. After repairs should be a gem.

The weather has left a lot of damage. The negative of this place is all ammenities are not available. No timeframe on when fixes will be finished. Very disappointing.

We were told when we checked in that the pool and hot tub were closed - even though the hours of operation for both are clearly listed on the booking website. They told us the pool has been closed for 2 YEARS due to covid! Great … but someone needs to update the website and list the pool and spa as CLOSED! The clubhouse is closed for remodeling and you check in at a construction type temporary trailer. The atmosphere feels very haphazard and indifferent to guests and the quality of their stay. The on-site laundry is coin operated … however it was broken. Not that big of a deal, but inconvenient for something that should be an easy fix. The internet was “spotty” and not available in some buildings but supposedly they were having someone come out to fix that. Finally, the property is a “no pet” property (big sign out front) but apparently that only applies to some people as there was at least one pet staying there. I’m not talking ESA or service dog … I’m talking pet/furry friend. He was a sweet dog, but that doesn’t mean he gets to stay there while other guests pay to have their pets boarded per the rules of the property. Close to Newport so at least you can go into town for laundry, food, beach access etc.

We drove 6 hours to get to this resort. When we arrived “Daniel” informed us that they did not clean the room that was assigned to us. We booked it a week before. He said we don’t have a room for you. Keep in mind he was not apologetic at all, just informed us that “ there shouldn’t be a problem getting the refund”for the room. I told him the refund is not the concern at this time But rather that we were 6 hours from home and had nowhere to stay. It would have been nice if someone had at least tried to call us to let us know before we arrived at the resort so that we could arrange to stay somewhere else or just stay home. This was a Saturday night on the coast with very little availability anywhere else. He said these are dark days we are in now. Whatever that means? We asked if we could get some clean linens and we could clean it ourselves since finding a room at this point was going to be hard. He called his manager” Sade Casteneda” and asked her and she said no because of Covid. After spending an hour looking for a place to stay we ended up staying in a single bed hotel room in town at double the price of the 2 bedroom that we had booked at the resort. The staff here is completely unprofessional and uncaring about the safety or well being of their guests. Daniel made absolutely no effort to help us or show any empathy for our situation. Don’t book here! Absolutely the worst experience ever! Why they put the charge through on my visa when they didn’t have the room ready, and weren’t going to, is a whole other issue.

I booked a room at Schooner Landing 4 months in advance, I received an e-mail 2 days before my trip stating that Schooner Landing has canceled my reservation and cannot honor it because of unavailability.although, again I booked in advanced and had already paid for the trip.

I understand they go through a third-party booking company called tricom, but they had given me another number to call, no answer no voicemail option, nothing.

So, I called Schooner Landing back, again.to try to understand what had happened.

Daniel at the front desk said your booking is cancelled that's what happened. I told him that it was unvoluntary and I don't understand why that would happen considering we booked months ago and already paid for it. He gave no explanation whatsoever.

I do understand most booking agencies overbook and expect a certain amount of people to cancel so they ensure their fully booked at all times, why should the customer have to endure this inconvenience and let down?
So they cancel the ones who pay less and book earlier, and take the people that book later and pay more.

After stating this comment to Daniel at the frot desk of Schooner Landing, he hung up on me.

So I called back, I was being very respectful still trying understand this unwanted situation.also being treated in the way he treated me I asked for his manager he laughed and said if you have any issues contacts trycom, and hung up on me again!

He was horrible to me and never once explained anything. I've stayed in the past and I most definitely because of this situation and response from the company will never come back.

The website needs a MAJOR update! There is NO pool. The beds are so HARD. There's no warm blankets. It smells like a musty 80s house. It needs a pant job, I understand it's the coast it's salty so is the stay. It could be cute with some updates. The furniture is very old as well. We are making the best of it, however will not be back unfortunately.

If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay while you are visiting the Oregon Coast, look no further than Schooner Landing! Next to Agate Beach, along scenic trails, views of the gorgeous Pacific Ocean are unimpeded by man built structures.

Worst experience I've ever had renting a room. Front desk clerk was horrible in every way. They weren't able to clean our room, we paid for in advance. Didn't call and give us time to look for something else. Didn't care just an overall bad experience. Highly do not recommend.

Only decaf coffee, pool not open. Resort is crumbling due to land slide. Should be condemned. WM, find better accomodations for us owners in Newport, OR.

Deck falling apart, so the sliding doors were boarded shut. Missing drywall on a portion of the living room. Paint bubbled up on the wall. After checking in we asked where the pool and playground was. Oh those are closed, she said. All this after the room wasn't ready at check-in time.

Needs to be remodeled, can't believe a worldmark resort that is so outdated, looks like it's from the 90's, Great location though, nice people at check in, close to the beach and Beautiful Oregon coast! It is kind of hard to find.

The pool is closed all summer. There is a coin op laundry facility that you have to pay for. The playground is not as shown in the pictures. The phones in the rooms don’t work. Those were the bad things.

The rooms have a fireplace and are dated but nice. Rooms are upstairs. The size and utility of a kitchen is variable between units but has a stove oven microwave refrigerator freezer.

This resort really loses a star on the pool being closed and no notification of it. It also loses a star on the laundry facilities being paid for instead of available or in unit.

Disappointing. I feel like we should be compensated. The units are sorely in need of painting on the outside and could use some updating on the inside. Paint is peeling ang moldy. Staff friendly but not fully trained. Large units.however, to sleep 6 in a 2 bedroom requires you use the air mattress. No pool or soa or gym. Closed because the building is sliding down the hill to the ocean. No laundry facility in the units but supposedly available. Wish we had booked at a different location.

Very large, well appointed condo. Would be excellent for families. Nice beach access. It will be even better when the current construction is finished up!
