I wish I could comment on some people's reviews. It appears one unhappy client stemmed to multiple negative reviews as far pulling the race card LOL. He's probably the most wholesome caring tattoo artist I've ever met.

I've been going to Gabe for the past 5 years and he's definitely my top favorite artist. He's very up front on price and does quick quality work. If you can't afford him, just say so and don't go. Guarantee you won't find someone with his quality of work for cheaper.

This was my first tattoo and didn’t know what to expect. I walked in with a wrench and shown him a few of his trees on instagram. Gabe asked what does the art represent to you? I explained as he started his magic on his iPad moments later with a few adjustments we are putting down some ink. My experience with Gabe, nailed it and exceeded expectations.

Gabe is the most gentle and kind person. I have never felt so comfortable and at peace during a tattoo. Would highly recommend. This is true artistry.

Gabe is awesome! Super chill, hella accommodating and definitely all about his craft. I went in with the intention of getting one tattoo, and ended up with an additional one - for way less than it would have costed for me to come back and get it. I can't pass up a great deal. I was in and out within 90 mins.two tattoos under $200 including a 40% tip? !
Both tattoos have healed extremely well, and the braille tattoo? I asked Gabe if there was a way he could make the tattoo appear textured (like actual braille) and he did one better; with my consent he applied more pressure with the hope I'd be able to actually feel the dots and about a month later so far so good!
I'll DEFINITELY be back and I encourage you to have Gabe ink you up too! Location is awesome with great walkability, make a day out of it:)

Extremely unprofessional. Claimed that my friend was changing her mind when she did not. Also did not want to finish her piece and kept changing the price. Took advantage of an 18 year old girl by over charging. All of this may also be racially motivated. Do not go to his man.

Took advantage of a friend did not finish my friends piece as well as overcharged, refused to finish their tattoo.

I met Grabe at the Portland tattoo convention about two years ago. I just had my consolation and set up an appointment for a new piece. He runs a small shop with a very comfortable and friendly environment. I feel like we hit it off well, Gabe was very easy to talk to and offers great input to help me with my design. I'm looking forward to having my new tattoo done. The only reason I went with 4 Stars is because the tattoo is not done. I'm sure it will be 5 Stars after the work is done.

Gabe is not upfront about his pricing and took advantage of an 18 year old kid. Told her it would be 300, which she agreed to. Only to find out it was only for the out line and sketch, and then told her to come back to complete the piece for an additional 300. I would never recommend!
Update. Gabe cancelled her follow up appointment after waiting for it for a month. Said he doesn't feel comfortable working with her. And has not refunded her the 400 dollars he charged for the outline. Completely unprofessional. Avoid at all cost!

Highly recommend! So much more than "just getting a tattoo. " Gabe is such an old soul full of wisdom, and exudes a completely safe energy to where you feel like you're in a sacred space. Can't recommend it enough!
