Ship Out Fish & Chips reviews
12Very eclectic and eccentric ambience. The halibut fish and chips are very tasty (chips are excellent and crispy), and you must try the clam chowder. It’s the best. I’ll be back to try some of the other menu items.
Best clam chowder I’ve ever tasted! The fish and scallops were fresh and also very delicious! If you’re ever in Astoria, you have to try this place!
Didn't eat there I thought they were really expensive.all tho they were busy and ran out of chowder. I may try it again don't know.
UPDATE 2/14/2023
So in August I ended up going back and eating here and oh my Gosh. I will go again and again.
In my previous review I mentioned how I thought the prices were really high Well it had been along time since I've gone out to eat and realize that their prices are very good, very fair for the quality and quantity of the food and of course the service.
I ate the halibut fish and chips oh my oh my and I did have some of their chowder very good and worth the wait. I enjoyed it tremendously. Yumm
Quite simply some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The fish was fresh, the oil used for frying also fresh and hot enough to render a crisp and non-oily coating, and the chips were equally good.
Everything was great! Chowder was amazing fish was hot and fresh, fries were crispy and the sauce was on point.
I was on hold for 20 minutes they forgot about me hung up. Tried call back line was busy try to order online I was unable to. I had to drive down here to place my order.
Great food! Crispy and not greasy. This is the hidden gem of Astoria. A bit of a wait for food but well worth it. The dining area was cozy and quiet and the tables were well-spaced
Visited on a rainy day. Had propane heaters, still cold inside. I was wearing warm clothes because we'd been on the beach.
We had no idea of where to eat lunch in Astoria and we’re so glad we chose this place. Highly recommend the poboy (hubs had it with prawns) and the cod fish over Caesar salad - the fish was some of the best I’ve ever had!
I have never had better fish and chips anywhere. They also make excellent burgers. And all at a great price.
Went in again after some time, about six months or so, and it's as good as ever. If not better. The staff is friendly and the food epic!
Would have gave a 5 star review for the food, but deducted 3 for the staff getting the order wrong and serving others before correcting mine. (Their mistake, not mine) My order had to be to go since the rest of my party was finished five minutes before mine was finally served. Be sure to have your order repeated back to you by the staff before paying.
Food was excellent! Staff was friendly! Dinning area appeared to be a greenhouse but was very quaint. Wait time for food was rather long. This was really the only part of our visit that cost the last star. I would recommend it but be prepared to wait after ordering.
