Sorosis Park reviews
16The whole park is on-leash for dogs, which is great because my dog struggles with reactivity and it's nice to have a place where I can walk and not worry about loose pups. This park is huge and has a disc golf course, community space, rose garden, volleyball space, baseball diamond, tennis courts, and a walking trail.
A beautiful park with mature trees and facilities for gatherings large or small. The park is elevated above the town and provides beautiful views from the war memorials that are there. I enjoy the disc golf course and they have recently replanted grass in a large portion where several large trees were removed.
This park is absolutely amazing and HUGE im an adult and i like to act like a big kid lol my kids love this park even tho my 2 year old was only interested in the bark and not the play ground lol we will definitely be back lots of times especially if we move to the dalles
Amazing park with incredible views. The guys working at the park are very friendly and keep the park in great condition.
I come to Sorosis Park to operate portable Amatuer radio because it is so high in elevation compared to the rest of the Dalles
I use to love this place as a kid. When I went back with my own child I noticed that pieces were taken off and never replaced. Some play structures were wobbly with dangerous protrusions and most everything needed sanded and restrained or repainted. It can be such an awesome place for kids but has been sadly neglected. Please whoever is responsible for this area restore it as soon as possible. Its embarrassing to the entire town to have the main park in such a state.
Love this park, had money donated there in my daughter's name for the big toy. I was disappointed to see that the wood hadn't been cared for. All the old trees are gone, probably from disease and other issues, but no new trees have been planted in their place, and the entire area had an air of, not necessarily neglect, but more of apathy. I hope the community can bring this park back to it's former glory someday.
Stopped by on the way home from a two week roadtrip. The effort that went into this Veterans Memorial is awesome. The park itself it beautiful and well thought out.
I was really disappointed they quit watering it up there so 95% of the grass is dead and all the trees are gone it is so sad
Gorgeous view! Gigantic park for kids, old school wood style playground. Dog friendly! Veteran Memorial, very beautiful! You can see Mt Hood on clear days from here as well. Definitely One of the Coastal stops to take a break after a long drive!
Such a great disc golf course and play structure. Bathrooms, parking and trees and water fountain
Edit: trees are mostly gone they were diseased and have been removed. On the bright side the play structure has adorable ground squirrels living in it that enchant curious children.
The view was really amazing and the rose garden was beautiful my children played on the fort but the park itself was in really rough shape. The lawn was brown and dead also torn up. We came for a picnic but wouldn't have if I'd known the state of the park. Kids softball was really fun to watch. Everyone seemed to have a good time.
I would not give it one star, A complete embarrassment for a park, dead grass no shade, just dried earth, no water, no ponderosa pines they brag about photos are years out of date. Parks department in Wasco County has completely failed to maintain this property, can’t call it a ‘park’
Missing the pine trees, but theyve done a great job making it beautiful again. Great disc golf course, running track, exercise area, and playground!
I don't think I've ever seen a park that has so many things to do and see. There are tennis courts, softball field, picnic shelter, disc golf, playground, barbecue pits, public bathrooms, and a rose garden with a fountain. Apparently there are squirrels living in the play structures and the kids were feeding them acorns. I'm not sure that's healthy, but I've heard squirrels can be a hard thing to get rid of.
