St. Alice Catholic Church reviews
7My home church. Fr. Mark is energetic& honest & his homilies say it like it is. Wonderful environment.
This is where AARP does income taxes. They have been doing mine for years. So happy to have them.
I am new to the area and, this parish, and I can say St. Alice has a warm, friendly spirit, & I felt very welcomed here from the start.
Old school catholic church. A little dated decor. I am 40 years old and was one of the youngest people there.
I have attended Mass here at St Alice for a number of years, Father Pat, Father Roy, Father Jaspers, all contributed to my religious growth.
However,
If you come to this church now expecting to come away feeling uplifted by God's great love for his creation. You will leave with an empty heart.
If you come to this church expecting to hear intolerance and hatred for any view, thought, or outlook that is not espoused by the young child who plays dress up every Sunday. Then you will leave greatly rewarded.
It's a pity there is only one Roman Catholic Church in Springfield. I would encourage you to attend Mass at St Paul's, Newman center on campus, or St Mary's, in Eugene. You will leave knowing you have been in God's house and that he really does love you.
This was the first time I had ever been to this church. I attended a funeral here and at first just noticed the decorations inside were a bit dated. However on closer examination the people inside were kind and gracious. The priest was definitely younger than most of the people in attendance. His message and his ability to clarify/break it down to the average person was refreshing.
Fr. Mark is an amazing disciple of God. I learn valuable insights about Jesus’ teachings from his sermons and I’ve been a Catholic for over 50 years.
