Guitar Store Strum reviews
18Great browsing and buying experience. Mitchell was very careful to provide attention when I needed it and space when I needed it. Also, great, quirky selection of equipment.
An absolute destination for music lovers and guitar players. Incredibly welcoming staff and friendly vibes - make this a stop on your next Portland trip!
Great guitar shop. Sam did excellent work on my bass installing a new pre-amp and changing the nut to make it a BEAD bass. Very communicative and great craftsmanship. I highly recommend bringing your guitars and basses here.
A wonderful bunch of people (and instruments). Never ceases to have cool new and used stuff come in to tempt any player!
I love this place and have always been met with friendly and knowledgeable staff! No attitudes, great beer, great concerts and a family business that deserves support from the community.
I bought a Gibson SG Classic from StrumPDX in 2021 and have been a fan of them ever since. The guitar is wonderful. Got a hoodie too since then. Follow them on IG - great feed!
I purchased an exclusive benson preamp colorway. Checkout was smooth and the packaging and shipping was prompt and excellent. All around great people and experience.
Such a cozy spot. We love to watch Ag Donnaloia play here at concerts. The vibe is always good and the team who works here is really kind. It's easy to sit, have a drink and listen to excellent music at this local gem.
Very cool place, great atmosphere for meeting a friend and having an alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverage. Mitchell is awesome and helpful - we stopped in on a snowy day, and found ourselves immediately comfortable and cozy. Great place in Portland for hanging or for buying musical instruments. Excellent selection of guitars, amps, pedals, etc.
Since you asked. Me and my Buddy finally made it out to your store. And the vibe was okay at first. But then when trying to test out instruments, we were treated with lowkey rude classism, by individuals thinking a certain instrument was too expensive or unusable for us. Honestly this shop is just a bunch of rich hipsters that want to treat you less, straight up an episode from Portlandia. If you want to shop at another local guitar shop and not be treated as lower individuals.check out Centaur Guitars or Portland music Company.
Excellent high end guitar shop. The owner and employees are very kind and helpful and there is always something fun and unique to play here. Highly recommend!
The staff is great, the beer is great, the guitars are great, the space is great, the owners…you guessed it…are great. I love spending time at Strum, and I’ve bought a few things there. It’s one of my favorite store to visit, and I always leave there feeling better than I did when I walked in. The whole package is a positive for the music industry and community. Also, there’s a great sammich shop across the street just as a bonus! Ten out of ten, would do it all over again!
Great selection of new, used and vintage guitar gear for all price points, and the service and vibe are top notch. Spent an hour testing out amps and walked away with a beautiful Magnatone that I absolutely love. Plus, beer and kombucha on draft!
I first encountered Strum as a performance space. 2 guitarists that I had previously seen separately elsewhere were playing together at Strum on a Sunday afternoon. Everything about this space was terrific for an audience member - acoustics, sight lines, easy access to drinks and refills, and the visual aspect of having guitars everywhere made for a wonderful listening experience.
Since I was primarily there to listen, I didn't get a chance to look carefully at the guitars for sale, but from what I was able to observe, I'm very much looking forward to returning as a musical instrument customer.
This was the first guitar shop I've ever been to that had a bar for beverages. I didn't look carefully enough to have memorized the drink options, but during my visit I had 2 different excellent stouts on draught, which was a particularly nice find in a town that has become overrun with IPAs.
Always an amazing selection of vintage guitars. Brought my Martin in for a set up because the action was super high. Now it plays beautifully. Very freindly folks and a just a really cool shop!
Best guitar shop in PDX. Everything from “common” guitars to vintage beauties. Beer on tap, live shows, and a great pedal selection as well.
Best guitar shop in Portland. Amazing guitars + amps, great local beer and top shelf luthiers…what more could a hipster guitar geek ask for? ! Seriously, Mike and fam are the best…this is a must-visit. 11/10
Was feeling crazy cynical due to some ridiculous recent online experiences. Drove a couple hours to Strum, played on a d28 I’d seen on their website…the rest is history. I realize this is a guitar store, venue, and bar…I am convinced it would be fun as all 3. I only had time for business, so I did my thing, bonded with the d28 and took it home. Sam, the luthier, working at the time was chill af, knowledgeable, honest, patient, generous and polite. This place seriously restores my faith in humanity…at least as far as guitar shops go. If you can make it in, do it. This is probably the best guitar shop on the west coast.
