Stubborn Mule Saloon & Steak reviews
20The wait was extraordinary for food that was mid. Also their Guinness is in a can. The audacity…fish and chips was aight
This place has restored my faith in good service, amazing atmosphere, and delicious food! Our server, Tanner, made our family feel welcome. He was quick to take our order, and he took the time to talk, entertain and suggest drinks, and entrees. His recommendations were spot on. When we left we not only raved about our all-around-amazing experience- we also felt like we had made a new friend. Thank you Tanner, and Stubborn Mule Staff! When we visit Joseph we will be back!
Was visiting from out of town for a friends birthday, we got seated at 4: 40 pm, food order went in at 5: 00 pm, half of the 6 people we were with got their food an hour and a half later at 6: 30 pm, the other half didn't get their food. The waitress kept saying “it’s coming out” without making eye contact or explaining why its taking so long, all the while the tables around us were getting their food. It was VERY disappointing. Half our group wanted to get up and leave without their food as it had been over 1.5 hours since we had ordered… finally when they asked for boxes to go, it was then that the food started to come out. It was ridiculous. They had to pack their food up and head out, that was after 7 pm. The whole experience was a bust. No one even got the appetizers that were ordered! The mashed potatoes ordered were not warm for the half of us that got our food, and the food orders were not correct either. Unfortunately I have a feeling it was the waitress helping us, as she seemed to have the issue more than the others around us. Overall, will not be coming here again. The whole experience was just awful.
Close to our hotel, it was open and had a good menu. The food was really good! Hubby got a chili burger and I had Mac n Chz and we stuffed ourselves and rolled back to our hotel. 36years anniversary dinner in Joseph was perfect and dinner was perfect too!
Very delicious! Def get reservations if you eat here on a Saturday. If you arrive after or close to 5pm and have not made reservations you will probably be waiting for a while.
Boyfriend had the prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and gravy. Rub and flavor was great and it was cooked properly.
I had prime rib french dip! Pictured. Also delicious. Great service!
Pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was here! Best New York Steak I’ve ever had and great service! Would go back in a heart beat, the atmosphere is your typical small town saloon feel!
Super busy (car show weekend), wait was long but worth it! The steaks are always excellent! The stretched-very-thin staff were friendly and in great spirits.
We were looking for dinner after waiting out a thunder and hail storm, and then a loss of electricity at our vacation home. We were visiting Joseph and our hosts recommended a good steak here. They were definitely correct, the steaks were excellent and so was the service.
Good food and friendly staff. Fish and Chips were excellent. Service was good, but the kitchen was a bit slow. To be fair it was very busy. We will eat there again.
Great place. We were there on Saturday when they have special slow cooked ribs, that is really great. Food was so delicious, serving was a bit delayed because of over crowded labor day weekend.
Ignore the other reviews, the service here was good and the prime rib was delicious. Some restaurants have bad days, give them a break especially in 2022 when workers are hard to come by. Just remember when they are short staffed you gotta be patient and tip better because the cook and wait staff are hustling! This will be a must stop the next time we are in town.
We walked in here because the restaurant we were hoping to go to was mysteriously closed (small town). It was a great place. Nice and clean. A great variety of foods to pick from and wow were the portions huge. I got half a Chicken Cesar salad and it looked like a whole. Pic is included when I was more than half way through eating it. I also got the BBQ fries, they were great! Hubby got the Bucket’s BBQ Bacon Burger. No words, just look at the pic. Overall 5 stars would go back again and again.
Had the fish and chips and it was really good. Service was fast and and friendly too. Sat at the bar and had a great time! Buy the mule underwear!
The Prime Rib dip W/choice of side. We chose BBQ F. F. (choice of Regular, BBQ, Cajun) were delicious. The nachos were ok. We ate here twice. Great bartenders!
Huge burgers. Definitely get your money's worth. And a little extra. They are a bit short staffed so they are slow, but worth the wait. Nice atmosphere. Fun photos to look at while you wait.
Best burgers in town, a tradition of going after backpacking trips up in the Eagle Cap has resulted in more than one food coma, prices are a little high, and wait times may be long, but the food is well worth the wait, especially the long ear mule 3/4 pound burger, on a homemade spiced long bun with 3 1/4 lbs patties loaded with cheddar. Always a treat.
Extremely slow. One waiter over worked he tried really had to keep everyone happy. The fish and chips were ok.
I think the town was very busy, rodeo in town
Excellent service and the ribs and drinks (the dark and stormy) were amazing. They were short staffed but you would have never known it without the heads-up when we came in. The server was busy but had a great attitude which made us more than happy to wait our turn.
Service is second to none; food is fantastic, great ambiance and lots of seating, definitely favorite restaurant in Joseph.
Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The 90s Playlist they had on was very enjoyable.
