6If you are looking for a great date night, attend one of Ben’s sip and paint parties! It is a great way to see a local vineyard and have a great unique experience. He was charismatic and made doing something that I have never done seem easy and extremely enjoyable. I have a couple of his products and they are great!
Had such a fun time at the winery! Learning some different painting techniques was really cool and I can’t wait to get our finished results back.:)
The mug I bought from Ben sure can keep up with me. Maybe it's the no-handle design that enables it to go where few mugs have gone before.
Two years ago when I saw Ben's booth at the Ashland Farmer's Market, I decided to treat myself to the first ceramic I'd ever purchased from the human who made it. Not a Goodwill score, not a hand-me-down, but a real Big Girl Mug. Something about that little thumb divot brought me a moment of tiny joy that would not be denied so I traded my money for it and the two of us embarked on a grand adventure. I have sipped my morning coffee out of this mug on the rugged coast of Oregon, the foothills of the North Cascades in Washington, BLM land near Joshua Tree, wild red rock creosote country around Sedona, and everywhere in between. Its range of beverage-holding capabilities has been tested too, from looseleaf tea blends to boxed red wine blends, raw unpasteurized milk to hot toddy's with generous amounts of whipped cream. People are often first drawn to the beautiful relief design in its glaze, then when I show them how to hold it with that precious little thumb divot, their delight always grows.
It can be daunting to move seasonally as I do, working as an Outdoor Educator during the summers then living out of my car in the winters. I sometimes crave the ease of a home base. So having little comforts and consistencies in my daily routines grounds me and helps me feel at home anywhere. Some people might say that having a handmade ceramic mug for car camping is unnecessary and impractical, but I say do whatever the f$%* brings you joy, and this little mug sure does.
I’ve never painted pottery before so I was a little nervous about going to a class that my friend was hosting. However, Benjamin put all of us at ease. He was such a great teacher and has a passion for pottery and art. He made us super comfortable and allowed us the creative freedom to do whatever we wished. I loved every moment of it! I hope to do it again soon and I highly recommend his classes to anyone!
This was one of the most fun experiences I have had. Benjamin is a great coach and made the creative pottery painting session a blast. Kudos and Bravo making the process positive and most enjoyable. Great activity and sharing activity that was enjoyed by all of us. Thanks Benjamin and Studio B LLC Pottery.
