4Short 1/2 mile loop trail through the forest and picturesque meadow leading to several crater lake view points. There is a bit of an incline up, but I’d consider it an easy improved trail. Several benches to sit and enjoy the views. Flowers and wildlife. Parking for about 20 cars. You really shouldn’t miss this trail!
The Sun Notch Trailhead leads to a short and easy hike to the Phantom Ship Overlook. The trail offers stunning views of Crater Lake and the Phantom Ship, a rock formation that resembles a sailing ship. The views are simply breathtaking.
Beautiful, if you are ever near there make time to go visit. Plan on 3 to 4 hours minimum time there.
I think the best view of the lake, especially of phantom rock. If you go clockwise, not the first lookout but the next is sweet.
