Sunee Thai and Lao Kitchen reviews
18 Purposely raised the delivery fee without notifying me sooner. I was waiting way over a hour to order food i would of went elsewhere.
That's pretty messed up.
GOT FOOD POISONING! I was at work when i ordered food thru doordash from here. I had the beef panang curry. 2 hours later my stomach was cramping and went to the bathroom about 3 times. Next thing I know I get fever and chills! VERY DISAPPOINTING!
I got a take-out order from here. We got the Pad Kee Mao, Biang gai w jaew buk len, and salad rolls. I had a great experience with the people working here, very friendly. My order was running a bit late and the server made sure to give me a heads-up and check on me every so often. The place seemed very cozy and nicely decorated.
The food however wasn't great. I had about a 3-minute walk home and we ate immediately so the food wasn't sitting around for long. Most notably, the rice paper on the salad rolls was very slimy (?). We didn't get them wet so I'm not sure what happened there. Also, the chicken and the sticky rice in the Biang gai were VERY dry.
Such weird service lately. Usually it’s pretty good but today I couldn’t order a chicken satay and a salad roll (2 appetizers?) 25 minutes before their employee lunch? The young girl said they couldn’t make it in time…. I will not be going there anymore
I ordered lunch catering for 10 people, some with dietary constraints (gluten free, vegan) on a limited budget. Sunee Thai and Lao Kitchen was able to meet those requirements, and everyone left the lunch table with full bellies and happy faces. Payment and delivery was efficient and easy. Communication with Sam was excellent.
Where do I start. Being an owner of Papa Lees Kitchen I know how important reviews are. First review I've given since covid. If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. So we ordered take out for the game Monday night. Customer service on phone and when i arrived to pick up very knowledgeable and respectful. Order came out on time. Got home food was still nice and hot due to their quality containers. Flavor awesome, portions awesome. Scoval level medium just like we asked. Over all experience will be back and will recommend. This whole staff thank you for the delicious dinner. It made up for the horrible blowout college championship lol. Finally found a Thai restaurant that doesn't cut corners. Freshness is in all their dishes. Thank you from me and my roommate!
Sunee Thai is soooo good. On a cold winter’s day the yellow curry is a lifesaver. I can never resist getting the chicken satay, and the beef salad is such a great balance of vegetables, tender beef, and spice.
But the main reason I keep coming back is because of their amazing server, David. He is such a shining light after a long day. When he is working the music is always vibrant and the atmosphere just feels sexier and more inviting.
And while some places make the customer feel like a chore, with David you can tell he genuinely enjoys what he’s doing and loves people. But not in that overbearing way that can feel intrusive.
Anyway, if you come in when he’s working and are unsure what to order get his recommendation. He’s honest and has never steered me wrong. Try this hidden gem!
Was next door doing Orientation for a local company and was referred here, glad I came in. Picked up some Tom Ka Soup, super delicious, full bodied, lots of flavor and I ordered it with chicken.
Ambiance was great the young person who helped me was fabulous, I will definitely refer this place to people in the future. Thank you Management and staff. My soup was the bomb, thanks again.
Sunee Thai and Lao Kitchen was amazing at hosting our department lunch with our 40 team members at this location!
Amazing service and thoughtfulness. Showed up with a huge group of over 50 people and they offered to close business to serve us. Yummy food, friendly staff, the best of the best.
The best customer service and the food is great! The manager is super accommodating and nice - highly recommend!
Best service ever! If you want to feel welcome and enjoy some delicious authentic Thai food this is the spot for you.
The staff saved our reunion by allowing our big group to come in without a reservation and having such a great attitude. They kept the food and drinks coming quickly, they were friendly and efficient and they were able to keep all of our tabs straight. The food was flavorful, hot, and brought out promptly. Overall, they did an amazing job.
So I was looking 4 any Thai food spot that would be open at 11 p.m. On a wens.night.this place said it was opened but when I got here.it was closed!: - (
David made our dining experience SO fun! He was charming, he told dad jokes, and he was a very attentive server. When you go, make sure David is working, and tip him BIG!
Oh, also the food was great ;)
There's a reason why they close their doors when they're making food, will never go here again
The food was great! The service was better! Our waiter David was so personable and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy his service and a great meal!
One of my favorite Thai spots in Portland. Everything I have ever ordered has been delicious and everyone who works there is friendly. Super affordable as well. Their spice level 4 and 5 slap!
