Sunnyside Inn and Suites, Clackamas OR

Poor housekeeping kept asking for trashcan but kept receiving towels, I've never seen a hotel that you had to pay extra for a trashcan and coffee for the in room single cup coffee maker. ($2 per package) was cheaper to walk over to gasoline station for coffee.

The only good thing about our stay was the lady at the front desk was really nice. Other than that upon walking into our room I immediately just felt uncomfortable being there. The bathtub was dirty, the outlets were so loose that nothing would stay plugged in. At one point it sparked. So I just decided not to even try to charge my phone. The TV did not work. The heat did not work. When we told the front desk that our heat wasn't working they just told us they were sorry? No offer for a new room. We asked for an extra blanket and were told they didn't have any. They later called our room and at this point it was almost 1 in the morning. And told me they found some blankets and we could come and get them. Didn't offer to bring them. Floor was extremely dirty. Bed had crumbs in it. And was so very uncomfortable. Felt like I was sleeping on the floor. Had it not been SO late I would have tried to leave. I will never stay there again.

Clean room. The pillows are tiny, with no spares. No cups. One towel for the two of us. The latch on the night security lock is hanging by one screw. Paint is peeling on the bathroom ceiling. Management obviously doesn't care.

They are not very good with customer service skills and they have changed me twice a $250 fine for smoking in the room which never occurred

I’d like to leave ZERO stars but that’s not an option. Upon entering room immediately smelt cigarette smoke and the cable TV doesn’t work. Hopefully there’s no bedbugs. Stay somewhere else. It’s not worth it

Adequate for the pricing. The free breakfast is not too bad either. A little on the rough side cosmetically.

Most of the receptionists are nice and helpful but the last one I spoke with wasn't. She said she would send the housekeeper.

I originally stayed in the room and felt something biting me all night long. I had to put a ling sleeve on and background music to fall asleep.

He knocked on the door and came to change the sheets. I didnt realize housekeeping didn't have keycards. He came in and took all the sheets. He went to get towels. So we left the room to go with our family to eat something to come back and I went back to check and the front desk said he came and knocked and left because no one answered. Well it's not my fault who ever did their shift didnt have their head on and now I'm being blamed for not answering the door when the first person had access and wasn't able to make it.

So now I have to make my own bed.

Typical cheap motel, some things didn't work so well, like the door too several tries to unlock with the access card. Customer service stood around and chatted while I stood the in lobby waiting to check in. The room was clean enough though.

Horrible expierence. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff was rude and scammed us out of $ 250 dollars by showing up to our room seven minutes before check out and saying we had to leave and they where keeping our deposit because there where complaints about us. As where bringing our bags to the car they slammed the door to the room closed and wouldn’t let us get the rest of our luggage. The only complaint made was by us after we had some druggies knock on our door at five a.m. Looking for someone named Kathy? Then catching them going through our car five minutes later. Will never stay there again, it’s not safe and the staff is dishonest rude and thief’s.

I love this place and so does my daughter! The front desk is so kind and helpful when booking me another night since we didn't want to leave! The room is clean, The sheets and towels are fresh, the bed and pillow are comfy. The rooms come with a fridge, coffee maker and coffee supplies but with free breakfast and coffee from 6am-10am you don't really need it! The location is perfectly far and close enough from Portland. We love having the mall and so many food options near by. If the road outside is too loud shut the window and turn on a/c fan to drown it out. We would definitely stay here again! And the price was so affordable!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would
Had to drive an hour back to my house to get the other person's ID. While waiting a very long time in line, they wouldn't accept a different person's Emerald card (wasnt prepaid) so they had to leave. I finally get up to the counter, and they tell me EVERY one of my cards (debit and credit) was declined for $25 (they have $1000's on them) conveniently after they saw my sick boyfriend. And the room was already paid for. And the staff wasn't friendly or helpful at all.
I went to a different hotel.and guess what.my card worked just fine!

The rooms are comfortable and accommodating to couples, families, the price is the best in town. Its really amazing that the really seedy, low class motels, filled with pimps and drug addicts charge more per night the the rooms in those places are shabby and smell bad. This place is attractive, the beds are so comfy and clean, the bathrooms are huge and have full tubs and showers, the staff is so helpful. I will not stay any where else in the Portland area. And the breakfast is great, for the price this is a steal.

For the price, this hotel cannot be better. Granted, I have stayed in fancier hotels with more amenities but at 3 time's the price. The Sunnyside Inn and Suites is clean, comfortable, charming, respectable and, most important, affordable. Also close to Food, Shopping and Entertainment!

For this price, I was expecting some old, horrible rooms. I was wrong, the rooms were amazing for the price. New floors, new furniture, nice city view, no odor. Also very roomy, big bathroom.

I'm going to give the manager time to make it right before my review. After next week, I will post my review and results from previous stay. The staff is friendly and the location is perfect. As the freeway and Clackamas Town Center are very close proximity.
My update on the Sunnyside Inn for my stay is ok. The manager Crystal is AWESOME! My room had issues with the door key card. My last few nights. Crystal did compensate for my room for the 2 of 3 nights i returned from my travel. Nice staff and I love the breakfast menu. Nice work! They're up a star in my review.

My experience was borderline criminal! The television did not work and staff was unable to fix it. Broken lamp next to the bed. We asked to move to a new room but they didn’t have anymore jacuzzi “suites” which is why we chose this place so decided to settle. No management in sight. Then the jets stopped working in the middle of our soak that night! I tried to fill the tub the next morning and there was no hot water! When does a hotel run out of hot water? ! And a broken television? I mean really? I should also add that they charged us a $25 dollar deposit that I still haven’t seen from our stay two weeks ago and am having to “fight” to get back. I have never had an experience so bad that I felt compelled to leave a bad review but there you have it folks! Shame on you Sunnyside!

For a 106$ a night you would think the bed would be comfortable it was a bad old mattress, and no door on the bathroom.

Lovely location and landscaping, but zero view from our room - ground floor, all we could see was a small tree in need of trimming and the side of the next building. Room was clean, but we could hear noise from next door, and the floor joists above squeaked terribly. Heater in the bathroom didn't work at all, but room heat/ac/fan did. I'd stay there again for a good price, but I'd rather spend an extra $20-50 for something better.

Best housekeepers and fantastic breakfast. The house keeping manager is a breath of fresh air, she always has a smile that makes you feel welcome. They also show compassion over monitary gains. That is rare and every business should strive to be like that.

This a a C-grade business. At max.

+They host parties for junkies on speed who are running around like cockroaches. On top of rooms of regular guests. Multiple guests have had to change rooms at 12: 15 because management does not have the balls to kick a few people out of their room.
+All rooms face the freeway and have single glazed glass. Sleeping is hard even without crazy neighbour's.
+breakfast is little: waffles and cereal. No fruit.
+frontdesk staff tries, but is let down by management.
I would never, ever stay here again.
