Sweet Cheeks Winery reviews
15My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate my birthday and it was an awesome experience. Our server was very nice and really knowledgeable about the different wines that the winery offered. We had both flights on the menu and the charcuterie board was very tasty. We left with two bottles of Rosy Cheeks which was our favorite. We highly recommend checking out this winery if you’re looking for great wine with awesome service.
We loved it! We went on a Wednesday 11am. We made a reservation. It was not crowded when we went but I think they get crowded so I’d recommend the reservation.
All the wine was great. We tried several and then bought two bottles and the cheese plate.
The cheese plate was very good! Plenty for two or three people. I was full sharing it with my wife.
Our server Chris was fantastic! She told us about the winery history and each wine we tried. Plus plenty of small talk.
The views were breathtaking! My pictures do not do it justice!
Worth the stop for sure!
We visited last Sunday as we were visiting our daughter, we’re from out of state. We didn’t make a reservation and arrived around 12: 30. They told us there would be a table available at 3 and put our names down, we were a party of 8. We sat outside enjoying the beautiful view and drank 3 bottles of wine. At 3: 10 my daughter went in to check on our reservation and was told it would be just a few minutes. At 3: 30 a young lady came over to us and told us we wouldn’t be getting a table, it was her first day and she messed up! Really? Do you not have a manager? She said there was nothing she could do! Never ever going back, horrible experience for all! And sharing our experience with anyone planning to visit you!
I wanted to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the incredible experience my group and I had during our impromptu visit to your winery today. Our primary goal was to provide our students with a lesson on terroir, specifically focusing on the intricate interplay between soils and the taste of wine.
Even though we arrived without prior notice or reservations, your team's warm welcome and hospitality truly touched us. The way you accommodated our group of 17 people was exceptional, and we are immensely grateful for your generosity and flexibility.
Once again, thank you for opening your doors to us and contributing to our students' understanding of terroir in such a meaningful way. Your winery will undoubtedly remain a memorable highlight in our lessons on this subject.
A great place to take in the rolling hills of Lane county with local wine. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Really amazing experience today. Liliana treated us and went above and beyond and gave the best service I have ever experienced. Felt very welcomed and taken care of. Great wine and scenery also!
Lovely way to spend a few hours. We did dine tasting while eating a Mediterranean plate. Lovely view. Great variety of wines. Excellent table service.
Michaela, our hostess, was personable and knowledgeable. The setting was gorgeous and the wines were delicious.
Never been treated so poorly. Went there for a friends birthday. It was a 'come and go as you please' type of get together. Right away we were made to feel unwelcome for not making a reservation, even though they do accept walk ins. We were then told that we couldnt order at the bar & we could only order at the table. We also had to order all together and could only split the tab 3 ways. Remember, people are coming and going as they please, so please tell me how we were to keep track of that running tab? We had a few children with us between ages 5-11 who were enjoying the all but empty lower patio, to which we were told we needed to keep the children Seated at a table. The children weren't being rambunctious or rude, no one was crying or breaking anything, no patrons were being disturbed. I let the server know that keeping the children seated at a table was not going to happen, but that we would keep them close and make sure no one was bothered. Right after that we were 'kindly' asked to cash out and leave. At this time there were probably around 20 quietly respectful upper middle class adults that were asked to leave the winery because all of a sudden, with an all but empty patio, they were 'at capacity' and the waitresses felt disrespected because we wouldn't make our children to sit at a table.
We were there less than 2 hours and will NEVER be back. Everyone in our party canceled their memberships (oh yes, our party was Full of Members) and we gladly moved across the street to Silvan Ridge.
Silvan welcomed us with a Smile and a hug, and we enjoyed the rest of the afternoon enjoying their hospitality and their wine.
I've been going to events here for years. One event that we've done every year is a friends birthday "Derby" event. Historically, we've been welcomed with open arms and very much enjoyed ourselves here. Something has changed dramatically. This year we were scolded for having kids playing at otherwise empty tables and we were kicked out under the guise of some sort of capacity problem. The outdoor area was almost empty and the lower parking lot was completely empty. None of the staff could give us an appropriate reason for making our group leave. So those of us with wine club memberships canceled them and headed over to Sylvan Ridge where we were welcomed and made to feel wanted.
Unfortunately, we will not be going back to Sweet Cheeks after this experience. It's clear that they have new agendas under some kind of new management or new ownership. It's a shame because the location is beautiful and has so much great space, they just don't want to share it with everyone.
We enjoyed the Summer Flight with the cheese board. It was a beautiful day and the staff was very helpful in making our selections! We enjoyed the Coldfire IPA and Sweet Cheeks Cider on draft. It was super cool trying their take on cider, it was a dry and crisp apple cider. The view was delightful and helped make our day so time there so much better. Can’t wait to come back soon.
My friends and I have been to Sweet Cheeks Winery numerous times over the ten past years. However, I noticed yesterday and two weeks ago, that when I ordered a glass of their 2018 Estate Pinot Noir my glass contained what I consider a few ounces of wine. My friends noticed this as well. At $15 per glass, I was disappointed with the amount of wine. I don't plan to return anytime soon.
The wines were so rich and delicious. We enjoyed a cheese plate with our wine tasting that had a very nice selection of cheeses, dried fruits, nuts, olives, jam and crackers.
Sam was so friendly and very knowledgeable about all the wines. I highly recommend Sweet Cheeks Winery.
We became Barrel Select members the very first time we visited Sweet Cheeks, and we have not been disappointed anytime we visit. The wine is amazing. We have been to a few Sip at Sunset and it makes us want to be lifelong members.
Arrived the 20 minutes before closing because we couldn't get cell service to see when they closed. The lady was really nice and let us try 4 wines and we ender up buying two great wines. We will definitely be back.
