The Barbers (NW 23rd) reviews
19So unprofessional. Been here twice. Neither barber listened to what I said, even after clarifications. Never even showed me the back of my head in a mirror before sending me out the door. Really bad service. Not coming back.
Only been once, but after that first haircut I have a standing appointment. They are great.
I genuinely received the WORST haircut i could have gotten. My hair was pretty long (around 4 inches) and i came in asking for just an inch off the sides and a little bit off the back.we looked at a reference picture where the man had longer hair aswell and what i received was nothing even CLOSE to what i asked for.i got a buzz cut on the sides and a bowl cut barley an inch long on the top. I told him to not take anymore off the top and he told me to "wait and hang on and to trust him" Please do not go here.he didn't charge me for my haircut.it was the bigger man with longer slicked back blonde hair and a beard.
Back in October, I went to this establishment to get a long overdue haircut. Beforehand, I called them to set up an appointment and asked about their services. Once the employee on the phone told me everything I needed to know, I was confident about going. Or so I thought.
Upon reaching the haircut parlor, they told me their card reader was broken, and they only took cash. I felt displeased by this turn of events, especially since the man on the phone said NOTHING about taking cash only. I would have felt less bothered if he had let me know so I could stop by the ATM on my way rather than go at the spur of the moment.
Once I got my cash from a nearby ATM, I ordered myself a quiff, but I was surprised to find out that they don't do facial shaves. This angered me, especially since I asked about shaves over the phone and the person on the other end told me they did. However, he misunderstood me when I asked about shaves and thought I meant neck shaves.
Astonished, I didn't know I had to specify by saying "facial shaves. " When most men ask for a shave, they mean along the face, so it should have been a given.
I still liked my new haircut but was left with an unwanted five o'clock shadow. Consequently, I was only partially satisfied and felt like setting my haircut up over the phone could have been more helpful than it was.
I recommend this place if one only wants a haircut and lives in Slabtown. Otherwise, if you want a fuller experience, I recommend going to an old-school barbershop, if there are still any around.
Regardless, I hope more haircut establishments bring back walk-in appointments since misunderstandings can transpire too easily over the phone.
Scheduling can be a nightmare, but once you're in a chair, you can rest assured you'll be taken care of
Gave me the worst haircut I’ve ever seen, the barber didn’t even listen to a word I was saying.
Great service with good bourbon. 4 stars only because I wanted a skin fade but the barber made some weird excuse about his tool not being sharp. Later I realized I made the mistake of booking a normal haircut which is cheaper. I wish the barber just told me that and charge me more ️. This was about two weeks ago and I already need a new haircut.
Been going to Cameron the last two months. My regular, amazing, stylist is far from home (at Progress Ridge Barbers) now so when I’m being lazy I go to Cameron. He is stellar. Detailed. Chill. Listens. Excellent work. Always checking to see if he’s gotten the last hair right.
Quality haircuts. Friendly service. Gentle barbers who don't need to smash and fold your ears as they do a trim for you. Interesting, instrumental was playing in the background. They have like five flat screen tv monitors playing baseball or something. It's a little annoying having no other option but to stare at an artificial light, but the haircut was well worth it. I don't know why every business feels like it needs excessive TV screens.
Good haircut, good price. Barber did a good job and the atmosphere is relaxed. Good option after my last barber closed.
Always end up with a nice clean haircut from this place. Fast and efficient. Fair price. Not overly busy like of locations.
Seriously. If you don't have a license to use a straight razor, don't accept customers for a beard trim or shape up. This was a terrible experience.
I've had several cuts from multiple barbers here and I've always walked out with a great haircut and smile on my face. Friendly, skilled, and professional.
Great place to get your hairs cut friendly and clean. Been going there for about a year now and Michael does a great job.
Cameron is awesome! Get a cut religiously biweekly. As long as he's here I'll never go anywhere else.
Cable is fantastic! He cut both my husband's curly hair and my straight hair. Curly hair requires special skill. Cable has that skill. It's the best haircut he's had in years, if not ever! Great cut. Great conversation. Highly recommend.
Great hair cut for my husband (who is very picky) from Michael.top notch barber.great price for NW Portland. Every man should experience this level of perfection.he was awesome. Thank you Michael
Cameron is the best barber I've found. I make a biweekly 45 min trip just to see him. Highly reccomend.
Cable is not only super funny and down to earth. His choice of tiny desk concerts is awesome. Oh yeah, and you leave with a great look and style.
