15Could be cool, but kinda feels like a kid’s halloween party as far as decor.also y’all REALLY gotta get new sound systems.get a proper club system.hire a consultant and get something that bangs.the budget 3-way speakers ain’t it.time to level up.
Always love coming here, easily my favorite club in Portland! I have yet to have a bad experience here in the last three times I've gone:) Most recently I went to celebrate my best friend's 21st birthday, and he absolutely loved it!
The atmosphere is very lively with lots of fun people to interact with, and two DJ's (one upstairs and one downstair). The service is great at all three bars and the drinks are delicious and get that buzz you're looking for (average price $12-$14). I love the vending machine with little random things you can purchase (I got a Michael Jackson Moonwalker VHS for only $5!), and it's a great place to take very aesthetic photos! The lighting is so different everywhere you go, and there's lots of photo opportunities with the coffin, large decorations, and fog machines. Or, you can use their photo booth which is always fun! The outside area is a nice place to cool off an take a breather, or grab a bite at the food truck (the potato pancake is so good!).
The only downside for some people might be the $10 entrance fee, and parking can be a little tough sometimes. Also, there's usually a consistently long line for the restroom. However, that's the time that I usually interact with strangers the most because everyone's trying to distract themselves from going
So overall definitely a place I recommend going to on a fun weekend night with your group!
As soon as we came in we were judged by the bartender. We were literally sober. She kept following us and asking if we were good. We were just dancing, laughing and having a good time. It was our friends birthday I kept telling her we were fine. It was so weird and uncomfortable that she kept following us. The bartender and the door girl kept talking. We were dancing and the door girl kept staring at us and giving us dirty looks. My friend hit a vape and thw door girl lex told my friend "it's a nationwide law to not hit vapes inside and they need to leave. We had no idea, we're not from the area. She could've given us a warning. We were trying to have fun for our friends birthday. We came from Albuquerque, we didn't know that was a law.never coming back. Wow so uncomfortable. I've never been treated that bad in a bar ever.
Amazing doesn't begin to cover it. Every time I've been, I've had an amazing time! I have had the opportunity to live relatively nearby for a couple of years and watch this establishment grow to be the epic spot it is today, and i am so excited to see whatever they got coming up next! Come check it out. Get your goth on. You won't regret it!
Such a experience. The community there is very welcoming, atmosphere is definitely what you would expect for the name, decorations are awesome! Unsure about the music since that’s not my scene but I definitely enjoyed our time there! Themed drinks:)
Curb side parking, pay to park, bus accessible, easy to find, drag show performance, night club, good drinks, dance floor. What more could you want from a gothic bar?
The place is lit! I'll be crawling back for sure.
If could live here I would. Feels a little strange since Covid now. But the vibe cannot be beat. Awesome music and a totally cool place to be your weird self
Pretentious bartenders that make me roll my eyes in their attempt to tell me how much "cooler" they are than me.
The experience definitely fit the name. Lots of decor and music. Just want to warn people they don't allow Bachelorette party's so if you plan on going here for one don't wear anything that goes with that (sashes, shirts, headbands, etc.) It was nice you could get tickets ahead of time if you know your going a few days before.
Rancid experience for lgbt+ attendee…
I went to one of their drag events this June and staff did absolutely nothing about 2 people who were trying to grope the performers. The MC told them off but they kept harassing them. Lack of action on the part of the club to protect their performers (especially in times where drag performers are becoming even more marginalized) was very off putting. What’s more I have personally had a negative experience with the food cart vendor in the outdoor patio area. He was saying something and I couldn’t hear him and as it turned out he was yelling at me (and many others) to not lean on the fence. I told him I couldn’t hear what he said before and got up in my face and said “f_ you” which then escalated into him shoving me across the walkway. Horrible experience. I told multiple staff members on site about this encounter and they did nothing. If you’re lgbt they’ll take your money but their attention stops there.
Does everyone get charged $5 for a pint can of Rainier, or is there multi-tiered pricing (all animals are equal; some more equal than others) ?
Really cool place to check out, the decor and atmosphere was on point.everyone we met was very friendly and unique.drinks were cheap and the bartenders were friendly up until it got busy (understandable)
The dance area was cool until too many people crammed in there and it started smelling a bit funky.
Id recommend going when its not crazy busy if you can, but still cool to see everyone in their element when it was busy.
Cool little place! Definitely very unique in the decor and atmosphere. Thought the vending machine full of little novelties was pretty cool. Seems like a fun place to spend a weekend night. However they do NOT allow bridal parties of any kind. This rule isn't explicitly posted anywhere but we were a group of 4 in Portland for my sisters bachelorette weekend and had on bride sashes, bracelets, and headbands and had to take everything bridal related off before we were allowed inside the building. It was still a cool experience though!
Cute and quirky. Come here every few months for a show or to dance. Staff is very nice and the little vegan food truck has great options for good price.
If I could give zero stars I would. Rude, horrible service, atrocious food, and bad drinks.
