The La Grande Inn

If you're dead-on-your-feet tired, you may want to consider sleeping in your car before coming here. I could hear all the other guests, their kids, their dogs, no matter if they were inside or outside. The smoke detector was chirping, like the battery was dying. I brought it up to the front desk and the representative told me "I don't know how to fix that, sorry. You can take it apart yourself if that'll help. " Then I figured out the batteries in the remote had died. Well, if he couldn't change the battery in a smoke detector, I didn't know if I could trust anyone with getting me replacement remote batteries.

On the way to the room, the halls were decorated with peeling wallpaper and a leaking light fixture with buckets of mirky water catching the drips. The light fixture itself looks like quite the safety hazard.

Inspecting the rooms, there was rotten food under the beds and under the sink. The blankets were scratchy and the pillows were these weird half-size pillows that I didn't know you could buy. A fridge that seems to work nicely but no microwave or other means to heat anything. They do offer breakfast. They have apple cinnamon muffins that oddly smell like meat, oatmeal, apple juice, and coffee from machines that I don't believe have been cleaned since they were purchased circa 2010.

The bathroom was still dirty. The towels had red stains on them reminiscent of blood and the shower was subpar. I turned it to hot water and lost half the pressure for some reason. Not only that, but the tub didn't drain properly. I'm not sure I could say anything positive about this stay, except there was a bird's nest outside our window that my child enjoyed watching.

The only thing this has going for it is the price.but then compared to rest of he hotels price. You get what you pay for.all if them in the area are outrageously inflated! $80 here. $150-190 across the way!

Place is old.they struggle with ppl who don't care anymore! Cobwebs, food particles on the floor under desk linens that are rip stained and burnt!

Oh the mold in the bathroom! On curtain, rubber mat, edges, towels!
Really hope I don't get sick!

Comfortable rooms. It was quiet.

There was supposed to be a continental breakfast that ended at 9am. I went there at 8: 30 and everything was gone. What’s more disappointing is that we stayed on a weekday and the hotel didn’t seem to be busy or full of guests.

Also, two of us stayed in the room and there was only one large bath towel in the bathroom for the shower.

But for the price compared to what else is in town, the price was right.

My suggestion to help increase the ratings is to make sure everyone gets fed in the morning. Not everyone enjoys coffee and would like to get something substantial in their belly before getting back on the road. One hotel we stayed at had sack breakfasts ready to go for their guests. Quick and easy and they could use what was left for the next days guests. Prewrapped muffins, fruit juices, and some other items in the bags made it easy for staff and for guests.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at! Disgusting, dirty, smelly, loud. Charged extra $$ upon arrival, staff was rude and pushy. Staff changed my room to a single without telling me. There was one towel, one pillow. The shower was comically disgusting.

Great service but very dirty rooms and not enough towels. There is not enough parking and none for pickup with trailers. You either have to disconnect and use two spaces or park out back.

Omg! Old and dusty. Floor wasn't vacuumed so my shih tzu picked up a lot of stuff on his fur. 2 adults checking in and we only got 1 towel; sorry, I don't share my towel. It was noisy. I could hear vent fan from other bathroom while trying to sleep. This was our first time in LA Grande so we didn't know anything. The bed was hard and mattress made a lot of noise everytime you move. As a light sleeper, I barely slept a wink. This will the the first and last time we get a room here.

The good: Friendly staff. Free breakfast. Very inexpensive stay. Clean. Small coffeepot in room. Very hot and powerful shower. The bad: bloodstains on the sheets, no art on walls, just 2 lumpy pillows (rather than 4), moldy grout in bathroom. Generally run down. But good option if you are on a tight budget. This motel is trying.

Had to move the bed away from the heater (didn't want to catch on fire) breakfast could have been a little Better like a couple of self timed waffle maker machines. Other than that my stay was ok.

There is a little confusion at this hotel about where service dogs are allowed to be. I recommend that the management look up Ada and service dogs. Other than that people were friendly. I was disappointed I couldn't stay there.

It is one rusty examination chair short of looking like an abandoned mental hospital, but if that's your vibe, it's a perfectly fine place to stay. No bed bugs in our room, but YMMV. Does have a pool and a big parking lot!

Naomi the manager on 9/2/22 hung up on me AND then had the audacity to tell me the black bugs were cotton! Do NOt come here! I will be reporting this place to the health department, fire department and BBB!

The dirtiest place l have ever stayed at. I cannot believe how bad this place is. Do not stay here it is scary. The problems are too many to list. I can't say any more. I am a retired military man who served in Vietnam, this is worse.

The staff is great.like most places they are hiring! This is an older business.location was the best being right off the freeway

Clearly owned by a slumloard. 110 for one night is far to much for this dump. Woke up with bug bites all over myself

This “hotel” doesn’t even deserve a star it is so disgusting. Bed bugs, blood stains and spiders crawling on the walls next to the unknown dripping substance. I would rather sleep next to a homeless man with no blanket in freezing cold weather than stay here one more night. The manager laughed in our faces when we asked to change rooms. Will be reporting to a health inspector.

This place is absolutely disgusting, doesn’t even deserve a “1 Star” review. Blood on the sheets, cigarette burn holes on chair, spider webs on the ceiling, filthy carpet, I could go on. Sleeping in your car is a much better option.

The front desk person was very friendly and helpful. The rooms on the other hand left a lot to be desired.

The dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in! There wasn't even a glass or paper cup to get a drink of water. Mold in the bathroom, and no lightbulbs in the lamps. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!
